Venting Being an experienced hire and making 96k at 31 just feels like a joke. So hard to find any motivation or do anything above the bare minimum. Already have hefty savings and other income, so just wanted to vent a bit
Is it an issue if I’ve never been internally promoted? Started at B4, left at 1.75 years (was green lighted for promotion but left before it took effect) to MBB (entry level) but haven’t received a promotion yet there and won’t until after I submit my apps.
The consulting services teams of big tech (Microsoft, Google, Salesforce, etc) seem like obvious entry points for consultants due to relevant experience, but they get little attention here. Why is that? Do those roles lack good pay, advancement opportunities or better WLB vs working for a consultancy? Do they have the same focus on firm initiatives, utilization and BD/sales as consulting firms?
My org will be pausing the Employer match to 401k for a few months. What's the best strategy to optimize my investment at this time? Ride along/increase or decrease my percentage?
I love the travel aspect of consulting, what are other jobs out there that would allow me to travel every week and stay in nice hotels
