My 11wk old puppy had his first meeting with another dog not from his litter today for a schedule play date. He was scared shitless and ran away (the other dog was leashed) across the yard and would not come close. How do I socialize my dog with other dogs when I’m having this issue? The other dog was kept leashed and was very docile.

Alright folks - I have the rescue cattle dog, Poppy. She's been doing great with training. She's a completely different dog than she was 2 months ago. I am starting her on the Middle command (stand between my legs). She seems reluctant. More so than any other command. I understand that the first training session is always a little rough. How many training sessions should I give it before I decide this just is too uncomfortable for her?

Can't remember what post had a side discussion re: CBD for dogs. But I just wanted to update. I ordered Charlotte's Web CBD oil and calming chews for my nervous cattle dog. I do think it has been helpful. The oil takes time to build up in their system. But the chews are for immediate use. I give her two chews before long car rides. The nervous panting, yawning, etc. is way down. It's not eliminated. But it's better.
