Colorado is a beautiful place. Why not hop around? Estes Park is awesome. It’s in a good location to go north or south or it’s close enough to pikes peak. I think taking a baseball game would be a great thing. See if the Rockies are in town while you’re there. That’s a great family activity. Go to pikes Peak your kids can say that they’ve been up 14,000 feet and the view is really good. Just beware of altitude sickness when you get there. If you can drive go to the royal gorge just south of Colorado Springs that’s another really cool place. Have fun.!
Love it. Thanks! Only issue is changing lodging multiple times with two little ones. Hard enough to get them out of our own house! So mainly looking for a scenic home base and to minimize multi-hour drives (wife and I like our day drinks when on vacy ;))
Colorado Springs would be a better hub, with the Zoo and proximity to other areas
You can take day trips to sand dunes national park and breckenridge, paint mines
If you and your family are outdoor people, Estes park and Rocky Mountain National Park is def worth 5 days. Don’t forget to get day entry permits for Rocky Mountain National Park.
Op, just keep one thing in mind, over the summer everybody’s gonna have the same idea you do so Estes Park is normally crowded during that time as well, the whole state will be. But definitely have fun.
