Man...you can call me a Janitor if you pay me enough. Job titles don’t pay the bills my friend
100%!!
Depends on what your priorities are (I.e comp vs title) but seems like a solid move. Salesforce is definitely a great company to work for and has made those “happy and best” lists year over year. I would take it - especially if you’re miserable in consulting!
For sure. I have to get out of consulting and this opportunity is almost too good to pass up. I’m not too prideful to take a demotion. I’ve done it before and got repromoted in 3 months (😂)

Titles don’t really matter here. What role would this be? You might find it difficult to get a promotion off cycle
As a former prideful self, I took a demotion for a significant pay bump and WLB while exiting to big tech. It made me uncomfortable but highly motivated to get promoted. I probably put in some of my best work and did manage to get promoted in 9 months. Point is, the ego bruise might help you outperform and start off on a strong trajectory. Moreover as others have mentioned, our careers are not linear. Each has their own journey. Can’t go wrong with Salesforce.
I really needed to hear this.
No brainer to go. Who gives a F about title? It’s a nice thing ideally but cash is king. And a great company on top of that
