Hi Everyone, I have been an HR Generalist for close to 7 years. I had good managers and poor managers in between. My VP once told me not to pursue my MBA because she would teach me everything she knew. She never did. I am currently going for my SHRM SCP. I really enjoy being a Generalist but I don’t know if I want to be an HR Manager. Any suggestions on other areas of HR I should consider?

I am currently a HR Generalist for a small aerospace company, located in CA. I have been in a generalist role for a little over 4 years now and before that, I did recruiting/safety for about 3 years. I am now looking into getting my HR Certification, but am stuck in between the PHR-CA or the SHRM-CP. Does anyone have any recommendations they can give me?

Has anyone bought/ done the HRCI Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion in HR Management? I already have my PHR, but I’m looking to gain more knowledge/skills and beef up my resume. Is it worth doing? The course is $239 and you get 12 Recert credits with it.

What would you do if you found out an executive was speaking poorly about you and your work performance to other employees? Is this a case where you would get HR involved? Have a conversation with the individual? Let it go? The comments are confirmed to have happened at an event that the offended party was planning/running, and the exec said negative comments to two other people at the company about the event and their work, and also said the person looked “too stressed.”

Hey everyone! I have a new employee who’s been absent since Nov 2nd (worked 2 days). They reached out to inform me of a family emergency but never communicated a return date. They also responded to their managers email saying they’re not in a place to take on this role now. Hi - I am pretty sure I will receive an offer for a university HR role paying at least 150K. The recruiter says "everyone here pretty much " works from home. I need a remote position for a number of reasons.. I'm concerned because the job posting says its a hybrid role. I am not that interested in the position itself but the money is great, it is a dir. position and it would advance my career. I'm willing to come in for meetings but hybrid is out of the question. So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?
