My first time buying a home and my fiancé second. Last time he was able to sit down with the loan officer and review any questions he had about the documents because there is a lot of language in there that isn't used by average people. Our current loan officer from the same bank branch wants to do everything electronically, and it's a battle just to get our answers. We're willing to lose the loan before signing on to a debt of $350 without knowing all of what we're signing on to.

Hi Fishes,

I know this is not the right forum to post random messages but I’ve seen some great advice on here, so would like to know how you’d manage your money from the below information and how you’d save?

All ideas welcome :)

£70k total comp
£150,000 mortgage
New Driveway needed and back garden to be done
Current Savings of only £2k after a wedding, home renovation and honeymoon
Expenses have increased due to inflation and rising costs…approx. £1400 on bills etc

TL;DR: Social Security matters.

My wife & I are 35. If we quit working today, at 70 we are entitled to a combined $50k in annual SS in today’s dollars. (Source: SSA.tools)

$50k real is significant. Let’s be conservative and say that a 70 year old couple spends $100k per year. That’s SS meeting half of your required expenses.

Current law with current demographics shows that SS can fulfill 79% of benefits into perpetuity.

Assuming SS will disappear means working decades longer than needed

What’s my best bet for a new credit card in 2023 to help with delta status? I have CsR right now but willing to give up and become a member on my husbands CsR. I researched the Amex delta platinum card and idk it didn’t seem that lucrative to help with status :(
Pre Covid, I always had platinum or Diamond and kept it through 2022 but I’m now going to be silver in 2023 sadly.

Need some advice: recently left Deloitte and joined new company that uses Fidelity for 401k — Deloitte used Vanguard. ~$13.5k in the Vanguard account, so should I roll over into new company’s..Cont.

Apart from Fidelity, I'd like to point that SOFI Invest did not restrict any stock and was relatively stable today.

I don't actually use it that much, but interface is slick and it's very user friendly. The only thing though is that they don't have option trading.

Let me know if you have questions about it!
