Does contributing to 401k beyond the match make sense? You can’t touch it until you’re 59.5. If i were to invest on my own in various etfs Ill pay the 22% tax upfront and then cap gains would be 15% when i sell. I’d have freedom to use that money to invest in real estate. when i pull my yearly salary out in retirement I’d Atleast be in the 22% bracket if not higher. Since the last 3 dem presidents have increased spending like crazy i expect massive tax hikes in the future. Am i wrong?
I really want to quit my toxic job where I'm underpaid because it's detrimental to my mental health, but I haven't been able to secure a new job in this market after 6+ months of searching

Hey I work with Varco Healthcare & Hospice looking for case mangers or PA that’s looking to find place for patients that would need our services would greatly appreciate referrals and working with y’all longterm. Anyone looking for a good home health or Hospice ?
Those admitted into CBS for MBA this fall—how do I get access to the slack? I thought it was automatic but I don’t see it under my email.
I just started as an auditor in PA and am getting interview requests form non accounting firms for finance related roles. Does it make sense to consider these kinds of positions before making senior? These roles are for almost double my current salary and seem to have better benefits. Would leaving now and not making senior make future career moves more difficult? Anyone here left public before senior, how did that play out?
I recently returned to work from maternity leave. I am working from home while the nanny cares for the newborn. Does anyone have a good headset w/ mic that they would recommend for work Zoom conference calls? Promising areas in primary care? Looking at joint healthcare startups and interested to see if y’all had any thoughts on interesting spaces or companies to look into
I’m payroll certified right now— is it worth adding the ABS and TT certs? I want to continue to focus on payroll but wouldn’t mind small projects, or just understanding more about the other areas.
Does the full PATT cert really make a difference for opportunity/advancements or is lone Payroll cert just as desirable?
My other thought is CAN Payroll.
I think it might be time for me to look for a new employer as I’m getting pretty annoyed by my current company (don’t care about employees, poor benefits, boring projects) any thought on consulting firm like Slalom, Sia Partners etc. Any other suggestion? My field of work and interest is customer experience and service design
thank you 🙂
CONTRACTORS: I have a quickfire round of questions because I'm really trying to get back into setting good habits now that I'm consulting full-time again.
How do you typically go about preparing your day?
1) What's your process?
2) What are some MUSTs you prioritize each day to maintain your work-life balance, mental health, etc. (i.e., phones/email notifications off after X PM; no work on the weekends, etc)
3) Must haves/dos for productivity and time management?
Thanks in advance!

Are big law firms open to candidates submitted from new (and small) recruiting companies? Will they let new recruiters sign their agreement and submit candidates? Or do big law firms only accept candidates from established recruiting companies?
I have a second round (out of 3) with Bain coming up. Overall, scored quite high and was just told to be more answer driven, which I am working on.
Did a couple of cases but really feel burnt, no real added values in the ones I do now.
Any insights or advice on what to prepare for round 2? What are my chances if the first round went well with the Consultants?

Struggling with anxiety and perhaps depression. It could be pandemic related or maybe just the weight of life but my life truly is amazing (Marriage! Kids! Job! Net worth!) so I really want to sort out the inside so I can just focus on the great things around me. I’m exploring Brightside and Cerebral as psych/therapy platforms. Would love to hear any experiences anyone has had with them.
I got 1 yoe working on NodeJS and React.

Just a rant...worked with a CD that I went on a location shoot with (I was a producer at the time). For 3 days straight he talked about himself. Every detail about his divorce, his kid, his family, his life. The one time I brought up one thing about myself, he looked at his phone and went, 'uh huh'. He is now a GCD at a large agency and all over LinkedIn about his Cannes wins. I know I am being childish, but why do these ego centric asshats win?
