At this point how do people feel about police unions? Are they inherently bad bc they promote interests of the police v the people they serve? Would same apply to teachers unions (and is there systemic racism in teaching we need to dismantle)? Are public sector unions bad?
I’ve joked about this but honestly why isn’t there a Union for people that work in Advertising?

Confession: Whenever my clients talk about union avoidance, I secretly think, I’m on the side of the workers... Nobody tell my partners 🤫

Anyone ever dealt with fraud at Marcus? Had to call three times to get them to even initiate the process, now I have to mail in a written statement, and it can take up to 45 days for a decision. My university credit union can take care of this online in an hour. Had Marcus two years no complaints, but current setting up HM Bradley.
Penny Mustard Radio commercials = what really bad, non-Union commercials sound like. Wow

Imagine if George Washington had focused on defending the Union Jack 🇬🇧 and protecting statues of King George III instead of, you know, leading a revolution to make things better for the people...
Would love to hear your negotiation wins and fails, and lessons learned. One of my learnings is simply to ask. If you don't ask the answer is definitely no. My example was asking for additional equity. I got back a no, but was offered a signing bonus.

Hi 🐠, need some advice. Was told by my manager that time doing research (for info related to my client) is not client billable and has to be charged to the overhead code. This strikes me as fundamentally wrong, esp bc this is a flat rate project so the hours will just affect my utilization / internal metrics, not how much the client is billed. I asked for a non-billable code that counts towards utilization but was told my utilization is fine even though I’d be billing <40hrs & to use OH code

Sick of biglaw but I want to stay one more annual bonus season. I’m seriously burned out and would like to shift gears but I’d like to leave after ending my 5th year. I am potentially looking to just try and hide/keep my head low to avoid work as much as possible/“slack off” and wonder how possible is to do that for a year without getting fired? I aim to maximize vacay time, and just in general try to avoid any work I don’t absolutely have to do.
Has anyone who is transition into data science, got an interview call based only on POC's?
