Looking for a new barber (24 M). Currently slick back on the top and a 1.5-2 on the sides, and was looking for a variation of this. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated!

Old Town Barbershop's West Loop location - ask for Tyler

So happy to hear that, she's the best! I'm actually going to see her this week!

X5 in RN - $25, phenomenal cutting (some of the guys do competitive haircutting... it’s a thing). Andy is the guy I go to.

Very ageist and weird to demand a certain age and gender for your barber.

Love it

Tracy adduci salon river north - ask for Kortney

How much do you guys generally pay for hair cut ?
I feel few of the consultants pay an exorbitant price which I don't find worth it.

like

I pay $50 ($35 with a $15 tip). A little more than I used to pay, but worth it for a consistent cut with a barber I trust.

Baci Hair Salon in Ukrainian Village if you’re looking for a quality cut at a really good price. $10 per cut, cheapest place I’ve found in the city that can actually give a good haircut

Thanks for this recommendation!

I go to Floyd’s on Clark or in streeterville. Never had a bad experience with them and been using them for a few years. Costs like $30 max

Norris or any of his crew at Headquarter Salon. I think men's cuts are $29 total pre tip.

like

Pro tip: ask if the person cutting your hair is a stylist or barber. Anyone can be a stylist, and most are even though they say they have xx years of experience. Barbers have to go to school.

like

State street barber in lakeview.. ask for Joella.

I go to Handcrafted Barbers, near River West. They give great haircuts, free beer, cool guys with good conversation. It’s $30 + tip.

Ric at Salvage Grooming. Terrible name for a barbershop, but the guy is a magician, scheduling is a breeze, relaxing cuts, and trained to the gills. Used to work at Chicago Male before it went downhill. Chicago Male you could find on reality TV back then even.

I got a job in-house 6 months after working at a law firm. I really love the work I’m doing (a little bit of everything) but am not getting the mentorship and training I should be getting. Do you think I should try to get a job at a law firm and then try to go back in-house in 2-3 years? Or just try to switch companies to get better mentorship?
