I got laid off and 3 weeks later a SC from HR sends me an email about an opening at the firm. Should I apply???
Looking for career advice. I’ve been offered the controller role at a relatively small company with a 30% salary bump than my current comp. Alternative is to stay at Big4 as a manager. I don’t have long term goal to make partner, but the technology available at Big4 is lightyears ahead of most small companies. Is having “controller” on my resume going to open more doors down the road than putting in another few years as manager at Big4?
Considering looking for a new sales management role. I’ve only had “promote from within” sales manager roles where I started as an IC and continue to manage my book while selling. I’d like to make a switch and start in a management only role. Any recommendations on companies? I have 6 years of top producing IC sales experience and a little over 4 years of management experience.
Hiring! Link below prefer Chicago area candidates. I will not be addressing comp. If your interested and have quality experience with Finance/JIRA/Portfolio Management/Reporting (Tableau) please apply.
Anyone have info on MBB/Strategy& supply chain consulting? Group size, actively hiring, common backgrounds (MBA/certifications required/helpful?), project types, & interview prep tips? Looking to enter as an experienced hire. Currently a procurement financial analyst and just passed my CSCP certification. Ex-big4. Thanks!
Does anyone have experience interviewing or working with Anaplan? I’d appreciate any insights! Having an interview for a Program manager role soon.
Is it better to start off early career at a BDR/SDR role or a tech consulting role to eventually be a solutions engineer? Advice is appreciated!
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
Accenture hired me for a role that I don’t think I’m qualified for? Looking at the job req page, I only tick 1-2 of the bullets (out of 10). Important to note that I never lied or padded my experience, and have been genuine and honest throughout the interview process. I start next month. Is this imposter syndrome or an actual concern?
Tax manager role at a fintech startup. What kind of salary should one expect? Do they typically offer equity as well? And most importantly, would this be a good exit option for someone with a compliance heavy background that does not want to be a partner at B4
So our school board just fired our principal last tonight. He was terrible for the last five years but decided now would be a good time. Our head secretary who has been here for 30 years took a different position at another site two weeks ago because of that principal. We start school in three weeks with no principal, no head secretary, and no schedule for distance learning. Please pray for me 😐
Any Altman Solon fish on here, or anyone know much about them? Recently received and invitation to interview for a consultant role, but unsure if I want to proceed. Happy in my tole but willing to talk with recruiters, but the first round interview is 1 30min call plus 2 45 min cases…
I got laid off from my accounting/consulting firm in January and have since been taking a class related to my industry but from a tech angle. I prefer to leave consulting but could stay off the work and work life balance were better. I signed up for this class thinking hiring woods be soft until midyear give or take just wish the class finished. I look on this app and it seems everyone is hiring. Am I missing the boat by not being in a full throttle job search now?
Want to switch out of consulting to something less stressful like an HR position. Is it possible to still make a 90k salary?

Trying to get a better understanding of cost of living/ salaries in Los Angeles. What is a reasonable base salary for a senior accounting role in LA? (5years of experience, with CPA).
Have been pinged for a possible role as Director of Operations at a promising looking startup with a 50%% pay increase & equity. It looks like an amazing opportunity.. but my husband and I have just started trying for our first kid, and I'm not sure about leaving the stability and benefits of Big 4, even though I feel like I have run out of career growth here. Has anyone changed jobs at a similar point, or worked at a startup as a new mom, that might be able to share perspective or opinions?
Would a company ever consider hiring down? By this I mean ...hiring a CD who wants an ACD job? If not, why not?

I am recently received an invite for a meeting with a partner and a HR person which means I am either going to be laidoff or put on a reduced schedule (60% time for 60% pay). I would rather being laidoff since I don’t want to still work 100% with 60% pay. How would I frame it if they put me on the reduced schedule? I don’t want to say “you have to fire me” since it might be counted as resignation and I won’t receive the severance package.
Hi guys, I am due to start working at EY soon within audit. I will be commuting to the office by train when in the Birmingham office. This will be from Leicester. Usually if a commute is about 1.5 hours+, Mazars authorises hotels. Is there a similar policy at EY? When not in the office I would prefer to drive to clients, not sure if me being in Leicester affects whether they will tell me to suck up an extended commute? Would a mileage claim be from the office to the client? Thanks!
What is the best certification to pursue in this area? Looking at SHRM-CP but want to learn more about others.

Granddaughter just accepted her first position in education as a para II. She supports one student but when that student is absent, she asked to help others. She asked me for advice about supporting a kindergarten autistic student that has just arrived from India and does not speak English and neither do parents. He is not aggressive but will refuse to move from task to task. What would be your advice?
I've been in Tax for a year, decided PA isn't for me and want the best exit. Would it be better to cut my losses now and move to audit for two years? Getting promoted to senior in August in tax.

Is Newport RI worth visiting for a few days in August? Hotel prices are 400-500 a night and I’m wondering if it’s worth going there at all! Interested in nature, good food and some hiking options. Traveling from NYC

I am highly offended by these “Halloween Houses”. Stop trying to mix holidays! Once they merge they can no longer be unmerged and then what? We have one super holiday once a year?! Unbelievable.
