I have a feeling my time is coming to an end. What’s the most strategic path to a partner withdrawing? Quitting on my terms once I’ve secured another partner role or waiting to get let go?
Alvarez & Marsal Corporate Performance Improvement group or Accenture CDP? Which one is “better” in terms of reputation, exit ops, MBA apps, and diversity of projects
Hi Fish! Anyone ever transitioned from litigation to a transactional role via lateraling? For context - I am a second year associate. Any tips? Do I use recruiter or get in touch with firms directly?
I’m really enjoying my work at Deloitte, but I feel I could leave for a 35-40% raise (80K->110K, market rate based on my skills) but that role may have a shallower career trajectory. At age 24, is it better to have a higher salary or better career trajectory?
Curious to know if anyone who’s moved from EM/PL/AP MBB role is happy? Moved to an S&O role at Meta and I’m struggling to see much benefit other than better WLB/less pressure. S&O in tech feels second-class citizen (lower influence), work isn’t as meaningful, slower and less clear career growth, slower comp trajectory. Feels like the only worthwhile move is to Product but curious to hear if G is better.
What does a typical exit look like for a BCG consultant with 2 YOE post-MBA? (North America)
Hi guys, presently a manager at acn. Have a senior security assurance consultant offer at Amazon and potentially a security program manager offer from a tech company outside of faang. Expecting second offer to be slightly better numbers. Which would you go with especially from a career growth/exit opps perspective
Should I move internal? My proj is internal & offering option to transfer, so it's not a blind move. I'd be doing the same stuff w the same team. But concerned about pay & exit opportunities.
What are post-MBA MBB salaries in Europe and Asia? I keep hearing that they’re a lot lower than in the US but I’m trying to understand how material the difference is. (I’m asking because I’m debating between an M7 and intl MBA program.)
If I started a new position (not Deloitte, Im in industry now) in July of this year, would a typical company give me a raise at year end? I took a step down from Senior to Staff when I accepted the role so a raise would be super nice!
Is it worth it to get a professional certification like SHRM/PHR? Not many of my colleagues have one and it’s not a requirement for my role, but I’m curious if it’s worth it in the long run
Planning to move to a EU country around summer 2021. Anyone who is a non-EU citizen got a consultancy job in EU countries can share your experiences. 1. How long it took to find a job ? 2. In what practice you got offered a job for ? (Such as technology or risk or IT etc) 3. Did you get offered a job by boutique consultancy companies or sticked with Big4 and MBB ? 4. How was the attitude of HR to you considering the fact that you were a non-EU candidate ? 5. What would be your hints to share ?
Final interview for Corp strategy position. Being asked to give a quick pitch of my choice with a market analysis and strategic recommendation. Thoughts on pitching a strategic recommendation of cont
On ApplicantLab, the coach goes on quite a bit about having a lot of white space on your resume (easy on the eyes), etc etc. This is totally wrong, right? Ive explicitly a Wharton admissions officer say to use margins to your advantage (pack more stuff in) and have seen an application guide at an MBB, where the resume templates include very little white space. Obviously every word should be valuable, but just wanted to check my sanity here since AppLab offers good advice elsewhere.
MBB folks: where would you exit & maintain comp? Thinking of moving out of California. Love CHI but worried there’s only a couple really great gigs in town, which puts NYC back on the table.
Which title would you use on your CV to better position yourself for client side comms roles? I’m at EY as a manager (external ranking)/ assistant director (internal ranking) with 11 years of total experience handling brand, PR, media & content. I’m interested in finding a new role such as a comms manager or senior comms manager at a company that pays better, but don’t necessarily want the responsibility of a director or head comms yet. Any thoughts on which rank makes me a stronger candidate?
How many rounds of interview will be there in Nagarro for SAP profile with YOE 5.5 yrs ?
Wieden ny layoffs: what happened?
24, NYC/$85k base atm, $6-7k in school debt with my BA & MS in life sciences/public health, ivy of the west. what could I be doing to push my earning potential and open multiple streams of income? 🙏🏽
Anyone in research? Is the consensus that it will still be around 5-10y from now or are you using it to leverage exit oops?
My tech client wants a “Think Different” type of manifesto ad that will run for a year and magically increase their diversity hires while publicly making them look like (cont’d)
Nearing 4 yrs of work in US and 7 years overall - single F only have 70k in savings and 16k in 401k ; no other investments - feeling scared that I am not saving enough
Did anyone get a COVID exposure notification on their phone today? Mine is dated for “7 days ago” so I’m confused
Hi guys - need some advice. I received a really good offer from FIS for a senior consulting position. I gave my notice with my current company (a boutique firm in real estate tech) and they asked me to reconsider for several reasons. I know they will not be able to meet the salary compensation but they do allow for a lot of flexibility and family-feel. Taking the new role, I would be learning a completely new software and in a new industry (treasury). Am I making a bad move?
Do companies generally asks to provide a copy of a competing offer letter during salary negotiations?
To my Deloitte folks: how much do tax senior associates make there? Currently applying and wonder if you've successfully negotiated salary
What’s a good exit for supply chain? I have an undergrad and masters in supply chain management from top ranked supply chain programs. 3 YEO in industry, 1 YEO SC software consulting, 1 YEO boutique consulting. Currently making 100k TC in a senior consultant role. Any exit suggestions?
Is it commonplace to tip at the curbside check in counter? I was surprised when I checked a couple bags curbside and the Delta employee said that a tip would be appreciated.
I work at an association where they have to report the top 10 highly paid employees. Saw that my peer w/ same years of experience is making $70k more than me. I wish I had never seen this information-it has put a horrible twist in my gut and a lot of resentment. Before seeing this info, I had asked my boss for a raise based on the success I've had over the past 8 years but have only gotten 4% bump per year. What can I reasonably ask/expect ? 20%? Do I mention the disparity if boss lowballs?
Any advice for a newly pregnant consultant (6weeks in)? Do people usually go for appointments and scans without telling anyone at work till the required time to give notice? Currently on a busy project so a bit worried going through first trimester without work’s support, already struggling with energy levels and nausea
Trying to land a job in a big tech cutting edge company (delivery IT); the management is ex tier1 consulting BCG, Accenture (I am not) How can I best prepare the interview ? Tips and advice welcome.
