Hi there! I have 20 years experience in communications and am 53 years old. Started new job several months ago. I consulted for a large tech company for 3 years in various internal and external comms roles. My passion is internal/employee relations and I’m a strong writer. Even though I loved my previous team, I left for a perm role in internal that sounded exciting and paid more. It’s awful. Micromanaged, unorganized leadership, work badly edited. Am I stuck? Is the steady paycheck worth it? ☹️

Just joined Infosys on Monday and got a call today for an opening in Unilever project. The person mentioned that I will be replacing another resources for now who is on medical leave and would be working on something that is a little below my skill level. It is common practice at my small firm by two main partners to fly through transactions for clients regardless of potential conflicts (for the company) or issues that may arise. It is often chaotic and has led to lawsuits being filed by investors against the clients. I know this is expected from time to time but I feel like I’m not getting the proper exposure to doing deals the right way. Would it be better at a larger firm or is this common anywhere? Mostly deal with microcap companies.
