I’m currently a contractor and my “position ends August 25. Originally I wouldn’t have minded getting directly hired on, however I was able to get on another deployment (Reservist here) and much prefer that. What are some suggestions on resigning as a contractor but putting it out there I’m open for being directly hired with this company? Hi, I finished my onsite last week and recruiter reached out today saying we’re finalizing the interviews with candidates for the role , and should be in a position to make a final decision on who to progress with by end next week. I am assuming they meant progressing to HC. Does that mean I didn’t do as bad so as not to be outright rejected and not great to move to HC directly :(

Has anybody filled out a lateral conflict check document coming from in-house? I was at a firm prior to this role. I don’t have access to the work I did at my prior firm and can’t remember half the matters. Feel like I am missing a lot of what they would consider reportable here. That said, the job I’m taking is not in IP or litigation. Should I be concerned?

Hi everyone! I think I’m going to get a job offer for a TA Sourcer. Originally I said my salary expectations were 60-70k, I’m in the Midwest with 1.5 years of smaller volume sourcing experience. Is that a good number? Or is that too high? Too low?

Has the covid19 made you think more about your bucket list and all that you want to accomplish and experience, the daily job grind notwithstanding? I feel like while I am at a standstill, my mind is racing with all that I need to decide and do.

I want to brag on my kid, but I don’t want to embarrass him, so I’m doing it here. My college sophomore found out today that he ended up with a B in his accounting class - which is remarkable, given that he received a 50 on his first exam and a 70 on his second. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen him work this hard - and I couldn’t be more proud. The grades that come easily don’t impress me nearly as much as the ones that are hard fought.

As an SC going for Manager who wanted to jump ship, would you consider another Big4? If so, which one has comparable benefits and better work-life balance (I know, I know that’s probably unrealistic)?

I’m unhappy in consulting, but not sure if it’s really about the profession/lifestyle or no longer wanting to work more generally? Having trouble identifying any alternative I’d prefer, regardless of income. Is this a normal mid-life phase?
