If you haven’t been able to have one, how is this your second?
I just don’t get why companies do this. I feel like it’s not ok.

I’d stay away from all three brands you just mentioned if you don’t want to spend a lot on maintenance...

I have 2002 M5 and a 2018 540. I’ve never had problems with either vehicle. As long as you maintain the car, you won’t have a problem. Find a good independent mechanic.
I’m a car guy too. Am about to be in the process of reshuffling cars in my house. I break it down by asking what you want out of cars.
Do you need something with utility for hauling toys, doing yard work, etc.? (Truck or SUV with capability to tow a trailer)
Do you prioritize passion / soul / or the ability to connect with your car (go for something sporty)
Do you care about tech, features or image (I would go for a luxury car in this situation because you already have a Q5)
If you have a Q5 and don’t need something to haul toys with (i.e truck) then get a sports car.
My personal preference is a body on frame luxury SUV for the wife (thinking Lexus Gx, Land cruiser, etc) and then a sports car for me. That way I have something to off-road in or pull a trailer at the house, but it’s not as cumbersome as a truck.
I have a Ram 1500, so I vote for that. If you get a Longhorn or Limited, you can check off the luxury box, too.
Only answer is an F150

Why are you trying to reduce cost of living and at the same time own a Q5 + another $35K vehicle?
Kia Stinger. You won’t get badge envy, but you also won’t find a more fun CPO car in that price range.

Couple of things as accenture1 said above. What do you need the car for? Weekend fun? Family hauler? Off-roading?

Consider a newer 5 series or A6. Used ones can be had for under $35k.
