Partner and I are considering a move to NYC (been a dream of mine for a decade now and we now both have remote jobs) but definitely intimidated by the rental market. We’d love a two-bedroom or 1-bedroom + home office with dishwasher, W/D, cat-friendly, and possibly elevator. What’s the likelihood of getting that for $3,500/month or less? Recognize we can’t get this in Manhattan, but would we be able to find in western Brooklyn or like Astoria/LIC? Don’t want to be too far from downtown.

Question: can a company make you come back to physically work in the office during think time but make you take sick time or unpaid time if you have a fever? This is so petty, but a partner just insisted, during an internal call, that she drafted a paragraph that I definitely 100% drafted. It didn’t feel significant enough to call her out on the call, but I hung up feeling really annoyed by it. I guess at least it was good drafting! Want to share recent incident. Got an interview call from Capgemini, i was promised 40% hike fixed to fixed.

I gave the interview and was selected. Hr called me and asked for expectations, i told her 40% fixed to fixed, she said okay and asked me to submit documents.

Took me two hours to recollect required documents. I sent them, they came back with rude email and 1% hike on my current CTC with 10% variable lol.

I am a skilled nursing facility biller and collector for Medicare & Insurance, my job can absolutely be remote but the company I work for refuses to allow employees to work remotely. SALERY OF BIOMEDICAL TECHNICIAN

I was just offered an RN II position at Stanford Hospital’s B3 unit for $84/hour. Are there any RNs out there who can tell me what it’s like working on the unit and if it’s worth leaving my job for? I love my current job, my schedule and the people. I have no problems with it except that it’s 1.5 hours away from my family and it pays $25/hour less than Stanford.
