Hey guys - does anyone have recommendations for Indian wavy 5x5 or 6x6 closures? I was going to order off of Amora Renae (https://www.amorarenaecollection.co/product/thin-swiss-lace-5x5-closure/) but they aren’t restocking. I’m still getting bundles from them, but clueless on another solid company that would have matching hair (friend is making me a wig bc of a natural hair crisis I’m having, I’m absolutely clueless when it comes to anything like this)!

-US News, College Confidential Forums, Reddit, Naviance, etc.
-Ranking in desired field(s) of study, degree options, major impaction, ease of changing majors, geographic location, research opportunities, co-op/internship availability, social life, personality fit, cost (ideally public with in-state tuition). Admission and scholarship offers will narrow it down further.
-Yes, school name ABSOLUTELY matters. You can get good jobs from non-target schools, but it’s significantly more work. Look at target schools for your desired employers or grad schools. Strong brand name and alumni network are generally very helpful.
-Don’t cast off community college as an option and make sure to hit the ground running. Most importantly, “it’s not what you know, it’s who you know”.

Get the Princeton College Ranking book. Also CollegeBoard has some school stats. I used a college counselor from CollegeWise that was very helpful, eliminated the arguments with my parents because the counselor handled talking through the colleges and with my parents. Very little impact on my career. Went to TCU and it supposedly has an amazing alumni network but no one cares. Imo it’s better to go to a college that’s a good fit for you than to plan 6 years in advance
Address geography first: is the prospect keen on staying in-state? Open to any environment (rural, small, medium, large city?) Eager to explore somewhere novel?
From there, depends if they have clarity on their interests. Even in undergrad, it’s good to compare departments for fields they’re interested in, consider liberal arts programs, etc. For that, best off just Googling top programs in * based on the geography parameters.
From there, nothing beats a few campus visits, discussions with alumni, etc. if they have the ability to do so.
Do you already know what type of program or field the person you’re helping wants to go into?

I went to a mediocre state school, partied 3 nights a week and got a 3.8 in engineering then went to big 4. That is the way.
went to a public state school and graduated in May. Happy with my decision overall, and happy that I got to choose what I wanted to do with my life and chose this career path without having the pressure to stay long term and pay off a ton of student debt.
Yes - I was planning to study accounting and chose my school based on that, but ended up studying supply chain.
Career services varies a lot, but would recommend looking closely at targeted organizations / programs at state schools to help students with interview prep for consulting, IB, tech, etc. Those are smaller typically, tailored for a purpose, and can make a big difference.
Happy to chat more via DM.
Just Google lol, if the school is noteworthy, a Google search will tell you. Or you will likely already know it's a good school
