Looking for advice! I’ve been in the banking for approximately 10 years in risk/Compliance. I left my role several months ago and I’m having trouble landing a job in the banking sector. Hiring managers say the interviews went great but then crickets. I am feeling that this is no longer for me. Would a career coach help me pivot to another career. I keep falling back to what I know and it’s no longer working. Thanks!

Get into FinTech. I left banking. There are a number of RegTech compliance vendors hiring. Check COMPLY. I used to work there years ago but they have a bunch of companies in their portfolio and are always looking for industry talent.

can you share the link to COMPLY jobs? Iam very appreciated that kind of job.

You left your role without a replacement? When I grow up I wanna be just like you

funny

Ha! I did! It was too chaotic for me and just wasn’t worth it. I wouldn’t leave again without having another job lined up so don’t be like me lol!

The job market has significantly cooled down and now that we’re nearing year end, most budgets have been spent. Should get easier in the new year once new budgets are allocated.

Good on you for prioritizing your mental health!
I would say… do some research on some roles that might interest you and then See if you need a certificate for that position etc. Coursera is a good place to start. Lots of jobs in tech, IT, data analyst, data engineering, project manager, etc. Coursera could help you earn that certificate at your own pace and then go through your job history/resume and format your resume with transferable skills for the jobs or areas you are interested in. Most skills are transferable, You just have to start somewhere and take a closer look. It Might take you about 3 months to complete the course and find a job in that field, but if you are proactive about this, you should be able to land a job by March next year.
Also, while completing your coursera course, you can add the certificate or skills to your resume with an expected completion date on it. For example: “data analytics - expected completion date: 03/2023”. With that, you can immediately start applying for jobs in your field of interest. You will find something soon. Best wishes. I’m rooting for you!

Thank you so much!!! The support means a lot to me!

My question is how do I get better traction and responses from PE recruiters? I have a very unique background and know I would be an asset to firms if given the opportunity. Thanks!

Thoughts on “special” salary grades. I just found out the VP I was offered is not a grade 12 like most comparable roles (verified). Also not an 11, but an 11A. Slightly higher than an 11, a good bit lower than a 12. All due to the fact that it’s a leap from my current position. Why should that matter…..shouldn’t it pay what it should pay if I am selected, rather that curving down towards my current rate?
