I would choose UBS. Financial sector is better than general consulting. Just a general opinion.
I don’t know why is that assumption there, but its wrong. In the other thread, I read that UBS is opening its own consulting arm. So in both cases it’s consulting only. I understand the choice is between “financial sector consulting in Deloitte” vs “Financial consultant in UBS”. One of the difference is the position as it’s manager which can be significant difference but from my understanding he is more inclined to do work in financial sector so UBS sounded better. The only thing he is losing is the manager position but then if he grows in UBS it’s quite good. It’s also evident from the fact that manager salary is equal to the associate salary in UBS. Moreover Entry to VC/PE is highly rewarding which UBS can offer considering he might get actual deal experiences. I doubt it’s possible once he joins Deloitte. Not to say that consulting is a 2 way door. Deloitte option will always be open but UBS offer will be limited as soon as that post fills up.
ubs is creating its own consulting arm and no longer (for the most part) utilizes external consultants. pretty good gig
What’s the oh breakdown?
What’s progression like in a bank? Would you progress (up or out) same as in consulting?
I would say slower than in consulting, no up or out culture so less pressure but also less progression..
Internal consultings are never great role!!
The preferred mode is you are part of core business. People who work in consulting eventually join a core business.
Internal consulting roles will compete for resources. As an internal consultant what will you be known for which business units will have to come to your group?
I'm in a similar situation, considering Senior Management Consulting role at UBS Switzerland.

What is the TCV? Based on that would determine prospect salaries at each firm and assess long-term salary differences.
