It's complicated, you have 4 options - keep, rollover into 401k, rollover into Roth IRA, rollover into trad ira. The first two options really only matter if portfolio choices are different or fees are different. If you roll to Roth IRA you'll be hit with taxes, better to do when you're at a point of low income. if you move it to a trad Ira then you won't be able to do backdoor roth contributions anymore, so that's not great.

I know PwC starts charging $75/year for admin. Not a huge deal, but I'm only in index funds, so why bother with the fee?

Any nurses here transition completely out of healthcare and into tech and hit $150k with their first tech job? I have my associate in nursing with 10 years of hospital experience. Im trying to figure out if I should get a bachelors in computer science or just get a certificate in my preferred area of computer science. I want tech companies to take me seriously and want to crack $150k with my first job. My nursing job now pays 130k. What area of tech would even pay that much as a newbie?

My wife and I make a combined income of 600k, 1M net worth including 401k, mid 30s, HCOL jurisdiction, no house. Late to the game bc of grad school loans. Goal is to hit 10M at 50, so in 15 years. Doable? If not, what’s a better goal? Should be buying a home in my ridiculously expensive city (SF)? Most of net worth is in index funds right now.

Can we please start a discussion about registered dietitian salaries and how we can fight for more money? Everywhere I go, even places like CHOP are giving us offers that are insulting!! If you are a dietitian ANYWHERE, stop accepting salary offers below $68k..it is not helping our profession. By accepting shit offers you are letting healthcare admins and HR think that we are okay and deserve the trash they pay us. SW make more than we do (not hating, SW is needed!!). We should be equals
