Anyone feel YOE (like 15+) on a resume is a detractor from getting offers at either big tech or late stage startups? I’ve been in this game for a while (mainly govt gigs) and am finding it difficult to break into “big tech.” I want to change lanes from govt to commercial but when I bring up compensation it always feels so contentious, and I really cannot understand why. (Senior level: base 180k, bonus 25k, profit 45k, 100% benefits paid). My experience is dynamic, I haven’t stagnated so to speak
Is anyone familiar with the transaction / deal analytics business at Big 4, or PwC specifically? What is the work and salary band(s) like, specifically in APAC market?
Avg salary for senior cw in Chicago?
If I was working at company and left just a month before a due raise. How much should I ask for hourly rate when they contact to consult me? Should I ask for the rate at which my last paycheck was, the new raise, or the new job's rate?
What are some low-key/underrated companies with great comp? I know McMaster-Carr and Mars pay crazy(250k+ for 5+ YOE McM and $300k+ for 8+ YOE at Mars) but where else?
Help!? Have 100k in cash (had been <stupidly> conservative about investing while paying loans). 90k addl. coming in to invest on annual basis going forward (what’s left of base + bonus after taxes, maxing 401k, and all expenses), which mostly comes in end of year bonus (55-60k post tax) and rest monthly (3kish a month). Only big goals are buying house (~$1.25M ballpark) in ~3yrs, contribute to 529 (plan for 1 kid) and maximize long term net worth potential. How would you approach it all?
Anyone successfully negotiate compensation at firm that officially doesn’t allow for origination credit? Have brought in small clients in the past but this one is a big one and huge for the group and the firm. I’m not exactly doing this out of the goodness of my heart so would appreciate any advice on how to navigate the conversation. For reference, client specifically brought their work to my group so that they could work with me and it’s a personal contact of mine.
I’m changing jobs from consulting to industry. My base salary raise is 8% (they won’t move any higher) but with bonus included it’s a 21% bump. Do you think that’s a good offer?
What do strategy consultants with 3 years of experience typically make in MBB? What is the salary and level progression ?

Agency side creative directors in Los Angeles. What is your salary and how many years experience do you have? Thank you.
This might be the MOST important and ONLY post of any true value I post this year, so please, let me know why you might agree or disagree: With all the awakening regarding employment and compensation in our business (remote, unlimited personal time off, parental leave, equal pay, etc, etc..) wouldn’t the most amazing thing we could do be to create PENSIONS? Our parents’ generation had them. Knowing there’s going to be money there when we can’t sling ads anymore could relieve so much stress now.
I am at a v5 firm in NY in debt finance (rising 5th year) who got recruited to a v20 firm. The lifestyle will be significantly better (1900 hours vs 2300/2400). What is appropriate to ask as far as signing bonus, given I am not using a recruiter, my class year, etc.?
I’m currently making 83K at AFS. 2.5 YOE. I’m interviewing with Deloitte GPS for a consultant level position and the recruiter mentioned 80K-90K for base salary. I don’t hate my role at AFS, I just want to leave to get more experience and money. I don’t think it makes sense to leave for anything less than 97K. Should I follow through with the interview for this role? Is there a chance Deloitte GPS would offer 97K-100K for the consultant level? This is for a Human Capital Consultant role btw
Any firms actively hiring candidates for public sector cloud? I have years of consulting experience serving civilian federal agencies (public trust), AWS-SAA and CSM certified. Looking for opportunities in PS cloud as a cloud consultant/solutions architect. Would love an internal referral and/or a chance to learn more about the opportunities. Can provide resume upon request. Anyone who has anything, please DM me! Thanks 🙏🏼
If you take a connecting flight does it count as two segments? I’m one flight segment away from keeping status this year and am wondering if I should rebook my connecting flight to have a layover

Hi there! I need some guidance. HR and global leadership rolled out some amazing new initiatives like not starting until 10 am on Mondays, no meeting Fridays and required 2 additional summer days a month. The problem is, my boss refuses to comply with the initiatives. He constantly scheduled meetings before 8 am on Mondays and after 7 pm on Fridays. He also doesn’t let me take time off. Should I go to HR? I’m really not one to complain but I’m tired and extremely burnt out. Thanks for your help!
Have a product sense interview for my next round for a PM job that will consist of an in depth case study exercise. Anyone have any tips and/or resources specifically for product sense interviews?
A manager fucked up the intern review process and now this high Performing intern is not going to get an offer. What should be the repercussion for this bumbling manager?
Currently in industry, on the product side with previous consulting background. I don’t like the grind of consulting, but Salesforce CSG (prof services) reached out with a BA role. I’m also in the process of interviewing at FICO as well. I like that the FICO is on the internal product side, but Salesforce has a great reputation. Feeling like I don’t know what I want. For reference, I’m leaving my current place because of terrible leadership & back to office 5x a week/no flexibility. Any advice?
I got an offer to jump from Deloitte to Accenture Strategy. For folks who have recently made the jump, how does the work culture compare? Especially work-life balance?
FYI - you should still get 401k match from your old company if you leave in first few months of new year. Heard differently on this app, but left B4 in Jan and still got employer match in Feb for 2019
If anybody is impacted by the KPMG layoffs today let me know if you want to discuss new opportunities

Had my interview at Accenture on Thursday last week, not heard back, should I be worried ?
Deloitte GPS is offering me the chance to interview next Thursday or in January? Would it make a huge difference if I chose the date in January? I don’t want to ruin my chances of getting an offer by picking a much later date
Posting on behalf of a friend, I'm a recent graduate with an MS in mechanical engineering from a Tier 2 school and 1 year of experience as a research engineer in the Transportation industry. I am trying to get into the consulting industry and was recently rejected by McKinsey for an Associate position. Considering my background, are there any recommendations on how I can make this career change?
