I think your expectations are high, but please solicit other opinions.
I’ve seen like 120 - 135 base with moderate (10%) incentives. Note I’m trying to speak for the industry not Microsoft
Hi M1- are you a CSM at Microsoft ?
Thanks. The glassdoor has only one entry that shows $ 130 -140 base or 150-170 total for Customer Adv. Manager. Not sure how accuate it is. The role asks for 7 years of experence and I have twice as many. Pretty comfortable and confident with the work but worry I may be outside their range. The hiring manager is an EY alum. We have about same number years of experence. Was not comfortable asking for a range and was referred to connect with HR after the networking call. Manager comp band is wide at a Big 4 and can get into 200k+ in some experenced hires in some practice areas. I often find industry or some tech ofen do not pay as much unless it is an exe or Director+ level for my exit.

Agree with what you are saying- I left pwc at sr mgr about a year back. Couple responses:
That range quoted syncs fairly well to what I thought. CSMs for very large accounts might get paid a little more, but they typically just cover fewer accounts for the same effective territory.
Single datapoint, I recently helped an individual prep and get a CSM at Slack, now salesforce. He was 7 yoe, 5 in tech 2 in consulting.
At least in tech, CSMs I feel are slightly underpaid given they play a fairly senior role in the account. This seems to be 1. While they grow revenue, they aren’t a sales role. 2. The role is mostly about adoption/ change mgmt, which pays less than hard tech skills
