Buy some huge moving boxes from a hardware store or storage facility. Cut out some “windows” and “doors.” Voila, a fort (or house, or castle, whatever you want) that they kids can color, play in, live in whatever….and that you can recycle in a week.
Kept my kids occupied for about an hour a day during a quarantine
Pocoyo on Netflix, box (literally a box, then when bored of it you can turn it into a fort like the above rec), glow sticks (add in box or extra long bath), whip a batch of bubbles in your stand mixer and let them play in the tub with it (with or without water), Toca Boca kitchen for the 3yo on your phone/fireworks app for the 1yo. String cereal onto necklaces, then they can eat off.
Sigh, I fear you are setting yourself up for failure. You can try to be Supermom and do everything halfway or you can get some help for kiddos (bright horizons or family member?). You will likely not be able to focus on both (children and work), kiddos are still too young.
Alternatively, let work know that you’re terribly sorry but need the time off and perhaps offer to dial in to just 1 call a day (around nap time).
Unfortunately this is our 3rd rodeo. Thankful they still take 3-4 hour naps.. I plan to try for 2 hours before they get up and 2 hours after they go to sleep which has worked ok in the past and then my husband and I will alternate during the day. Definitely not winning employee of the year over here but would like to carry my weight.
While I’d love to get help, I don’t feel right having anyone in our home until the 5 day mark so hopefully it’s really just Tuesday and Wednesday without help. I’d like to get as many activities as I can lined up to make the best of it
For the 3 y/o - water color paints, kinetic sand kit (we have the Ice cream one from target), bubble guppies on Daniel tiger binging, plastic food on a yoga mat (picnic), decorate some sugar cookies, coloring, throwing a small ball or socks in a laundry basket, stringing wooden beads on necklaces (Melissa and Doug has a good set). I just went thru a week of this. My house is still a disaster

Mess free painting in ziplock bags?
How do you keep the kids from lifting up the tape and opening the ziplock bags within 3 minutes? Asking from experience.

Good luck OP.
