Recursion by Blake Crouch was a good, quick, fun read.
Pro
I like Blake Crouch’s writing style a lot.

I’ve read them both...Loved Little Fires Everywhere! Where the Crawdads Sing is wonderful too but a bit too heavy for my current state of mind
Agents of Innocence by David Ignatius. One of my favorite books of all time — about a CIA case officer in Beirut during the civil war. Thrilling, complex, fantastic character development, and bits and pieces of history that had me deep diving Wikipedia for days.
Just finished “Early Work” by Andrew Martin, which is a quick, easy, funny read about the sloppiness of being romantically-involved, twenty-something, and post-liberal arts degree’d. It was a little stuffy in its 2010’s intellectualized hipsterish ways—the cultural reference points are insular and dated in that way—but still a fun read with well defined love/hate characters.
Here’s some of the better book club books we’ve read recently. Our choices have been skewing a bit dark so these are the lighter ones!
