Looking for guidance breaking into cybersecurity sales. I was an enterprise BDR for 2 years and have been in an AE role selling CRM for the past year both roles at well established publically traded saas companies with over 8+ years of sales and management experience in high ticket retail prior to tech. Based on Canada.

I took a job selling cybersecurity products with a regional MSSP. Admittedly, it was a pay cut. After a year I was able to secure a job working directly with a vendor. The earning potential goes way up if you can sell directly. I would look for “Needed” cybersecurity product opportunities.

Thank you for the insight how would you go about defining what's needed ?

Put together a spreadsheet of every sales person that you know. Then reach out to them and ask them to introduce you to any headhunters that have approached them about a new sales job. The reason you do this is because most people who head hunters talk to are not interested in a new job but the head hunter asks them if they know anybody good who might fit the position. You want to be that person.

Hi Folks,

Am currently working in EY as Tax Analyst. But i would like to change my job profile. Am interested in Investment Banking. I don't know whether investment banks hire people without any previous experience from IB. So, is there any courses to enter into IB? Kindly give suggestions on this.

Any thoughts on Anchor Worldwide? (Nyc)

Nagarro OR Deloitte which firm is good for interesting big data products? And which firm has better work life balance?

What's the structure of your PM department looking like these days? I'm working under Omnicom in NYC and seems like title jumps are slim picking around the SPM mark. Does your agency have Project supervisor and Associative Director positions? Or Group PM etc similar to account dept? Salary ranges for these positions?

Im panicking. Due to an over site I’m 5 months late on replying to discover demands in a PI case. Opposing counsel filed a motion to compel. If I turn them over will most attorneys withdraw their motion??

Two offers. Is it best to choose the company that is most stable because it’s larger but lacks a clear product offering and entering a new sector or the company that is more in growth phase but has clearer product offering?

bases are off by 20k, haven’t countered yet. OTE sounds comparable but have more faith in the clearer product offering.

Any Business Analysts exit as a Test Engineer? Seems like another term for QA tester? Have done functional, automation, and performance testing in my past roles, but it was always an addition to my regular responsibilities. I was referred to Lockheed for this role, but want to know if I’d even be considered. Of course I’d tailor my resume to highlight testing experience but any other insight is helpful!

I have a final round interview at Accenture coming up and the recruiter contacted me yesterday and told me with my analyst background(and that I can code) I would be better suited for applied intelligence. Sounds like a great opportunity, but when I asked for the title and level, she only responded with the title(analyst). Is it not typical to ask for a level? Is this something I should wait to discuss when I get an offer? I want to come in the last interview prepared with salary expectations.

Hey Guys how do you ask your team to let you either honor your two week notice date and or finish your stuff out when switching to competitor? I don’t want to leave that day if I have a report that is about be issued…and work needs to be done. I want to let them know ahead of time but also not too early where I leave them hanging.

Looking for a Sales engineer role for a Saas company.

Has anyone made the move from vendor side to an existing client? A client I closed is hiring and I think I’d be a great fit. However, I know I need to navigate with care. I love the product I sell currently, but my company was acquired recently and comp plans changed. Any advice on doing this in a tactful way?

Why does no one discuss the real elephant that’s in the room? Most people hired in tech the last few years weren’t qualified. A few years of woke friends hiring woke friends lead us here. The positions that are getting laid off are mostly admin/recruiter related (jobs with transferable skills most people can do). It’s not the end of the world, people will find other jobs. Just no more made up titles making 6 figures at home watching Netflix (good thing).

I’m in Sales, but brand new to tech sales. I had a resume person help me - gorgeous cover letter too that showcases my skills.

I keep getting rejected for lack of SaaS experience. What can I say or do to get my foot in the door? I am confident that I can crush it but not even getting past the gatekeeper at this point. It’s a blanket “ we need someone with experience” and I’m trying to not get discouraged.

Hi All, any tips on sales presentation for bdr in saas sales? Im reaching my final round of interview. Much appreciated

I would like to make a change from a Big tech corporate to a smaller one and also in PRE IPO.
From Milan, Italy back to Dublin, Ireland

Currently base salary much lower than the market, growth opportunities never discussed after 1 year in current position.

The company is Fivetran what do you think?

Experience: 4th year in Big Tech Corporate
2 years in Demand Generation as BDR
2 years as Field Cloud Account Executive.

I am looking for greater impact and professional growth.

I have a friend who is currently looking for a job she has experience in sales and account management and also an AA degree. Do you know of anywhere that’s hiring?

Interviewed for a company today. The remuneration package $120k-$180k/year [Base + % of Commission = OTE] (50/50 spilt).

They’re asking for an expected salary, if my expected salary is $100k/year, comes out to $8.3k/month.

Based on the $180k and paymix of 50/50, that means $90k is the base salary which is lower than my expected - is this correct? If so, what should I do?

MSFT or AWS? As Tech Pre Sales and why?

Anyone have any total earnings insight to Elavon? They mentioned a base of 70k the first year while you ramp up and a base of 50k after that. But the person in charge of hiring has said they have struggled to hire at that 50k base. Thinking I could push for 60-70k base but I am unsure about how much commission can be expected in the first couple years. Any insight would be helpful

What are some “typical” career paths for Account Executives other than working up towards the largest enterprise AE roles. After being in sales for 6 years, I’m relatively naive to any other than “leadership” and wonder what other options to consider are out there. I’d even be open so some not so typical ones that people have enjoyed/found success in. Thanks in advance!

Hi all - I am a Sr. IT Internal Audit Consultant at a medium-size firm and I'm exploring Sales Engineer roles as a potential exit opportunity. I'm wondering if anyone else in this bowl has an IT Audit background and would be able to offer me advice on how to make the career switch.

Thanks for any advice/guidance you can provide!
