I am super happy with my $20 Ikea high chair. I couldn't bring myself to spend the money for a Stokke Tripp Trapp. However, I also have the Inglesina one that clips to a table, which has been great for when we visit grandparents
If you want a simple, easy to clean high chair for first 18 months to 2 years, get the ikea. Many a friends have had one and loved it.
That being said, if you want a chair that looks really good and can last many years, get the stokke trip trap. It’s definitely a splurge, but we really love it. Works great for babies (easy to cleans ). But my 5 year old also still sits in hers and it’s help up so well over the years. Also it’s a classy looking kids chair that doesn’t look out of place in a nice-ish dining areas.
Don’t get anything in between. Nothing other than the stokke trip trap is worth the extra $ above the ikea antelop.
Second Ikea. We can afford pricey ones but don’t bother. The baby doesn’t care, and we like the Ikea features.
This is super helpful - thank you!
I am in high chair hell. I bought a foldable Joovy one at first and I want to set it on fire - the food is impossible to clean out of that thing.
Then we bought the IKEA Antelop. I think something is wrong with me - I hate it and everyone I hear from loves it. I find it to be super short and too lightweight (I feel like if my kid moves around too much he could topple it over.) I dunno. Maybe it’s because I switched from a bigger one that it seems so small and shitty.
This Black Friday I just went ahead and splurged on the Tripp Trapp. No deals though - that thing is never on sale. I used my target red card to save at least a little dough.
How are you finding the Tripp trap?
We have the 4moms one and I’m happy with it
The 4moms is on sale on amazon for about 239 which is lowest I’ve seen it
