Can someone share gender pay gap articles? The only stuff I found doesn't control for education and experience and just looks at the total average by gender. Would like to see the pay gap difference when these variables are the same. TIA.
How do we feel about listening ethnicity in casting specs? Our clients say it’s important to ensure diversity, but is it counterproductive?
"I have no idea what it's like to have my life circumstances affected by my race or gender but listen up because I've got a really important take about discrimination"
I recently got married and started talking to my sister in law more often. She addresses me as “Bro” EVERY SINGLE TIME. She knows I identify as female. I absolutely hate because it’s a sign of deeply ingrained patriarchy and I also find it disrespectful. I never address anyone as bro, dude, man etc because I honestly find it very disrespectful. I would rather be addressed by my name. How can I handle this situation? We are still forming a reltnship & don’t want to hurt that process. I’m Indian.
Hello! Anyone have recommendations of a good OBGYN in the Fairfax area? I don’t have a gender preference but definitely would like someone experienced because I expect complications with my age and genetic stuff etc. I will be cross posting across other threads too.
Does working for Partners (particularly Boomers) of your respective ethnicity or diversity demographic feel like the ultimate haze? Do you feel like they haze you worse than your non-diverse peers?
Anyone feel like it’s gender wars in the consulting bowl right now? I know we’ve linked to a couple of them but they just keep coming and the loudness of it is frightening
Am I wrong in thinking it’s inappropriate to talk negatively about members of a specific gender or race at work? I’ve been hearing more of it recently.
Just curious from the post below: is there a diversity hire at McKinsey & Company? I guess everyone needs to pass the same bar but maybe they get a little extra push than non-diverse candidates?
In your opinion, what can schools and districts do to make racial diversity in management and corporate leadership positions a priority?
I am looking to gain certification or other credentialing in diversity and inclusion, not only because it would look good on my resume both for future job-search purposes and also to become better educated in this area, which is growing in importance. I looked at SHRM's "Inclusive Workplace Culture Specialty Credential" and got a bit of "sticker shock" at the cost - $1,655.00 for members. Does anyone have other suggestions on training/credentialing in this area?
I love this (queer-positive comic creators really bring so much joy to the world) ☺️ The same goes for gender!
I know I want a job change but not sure to what. I actually enjoy strategy and consulting and want to make good money. I can learn and get interested in just about anything and I like diversity in my work. That’s all I’ve got so far. What else do you all consider in a job move?
Does anyone know their agency's diversity numbers? Percentage POC, Black, Latinx, Asian, 2+ races, etc. If so how do you think it stacks up to other agencies?
Everyone: We asked for diversity and visible minorities in this video. This edit shows 90% whites dudes... The producer: The guy in the first shot is latino and there’s also an Irishman and an Australian bro at the end 😑
Hi everyone! I'm looking to leave the consulting world but don't know where to start. I live in the DMV so everything is government and/government consulting. I'm looking for a place that has an international presence that will help me expand my world view. Also looking for a place where I feel that the intersection of my race and gender is a welcoming attribute....done with the microaggressive attitudes that leads to psychological torture the consulting world has to offer.
What do DEI people actually do? Besides give the (mostly false) appearance of diversity within the agency?
Anyone familiar with Kayne Anderson Rudnick? I have a friend looking at an position there but is unfamiliar with the firm reputation.
is there anything you can do to a previous supervisor who screwed you over due to discrimination ? Reported her to HR but not enough to get her fired.
Deloitte S&A or LeK for analyst role?

I have a huge crush on an recently-hired intern. I’m married and twice as old. I would never act on it. But.... swoon
Considering an exit opportunity at a higher level + much higher salary with comparable benefits to Deloitte in everything except parental leave which is 8 weeks followed by short term disability.
If anyone is looking to adopt an amazing pupper, look no further than my girl Annelle (Nelly) (6 yo). I’m trying hard to get her adopted! Super sweet, good with kids and dogs. Not cat tested. Happy to chill all day but full of energy outdoors. 🐾 https://petlover.petstablished.com/pets/public/1159058?awo=Atlanta+Lab+Rescue&widget=false
I am struggling. I’ve been consulting for seven years and have managed to become very specialized in one niche industry. I would like to exit but there aren’t any (good) opportunities in the industry to which I consult. Everyone is encouraging me to go into high tech (not necessarily FAANG) but I am scared to let go of my industry expertise. Does anyone have any advice? Has anyone let go of their industry expertise and doesn’t regret it?
At Slalom Consulting or any BIG4, how does the comp during the promotions work? Let’s say I’m getting promoted from Consultant -> Sr.Consultant Is the hike fixed by the higher management or is it up for negotiation?! Thankyou!Slalom Consulting

After 13 weeks of WFH - I loved getting to spend nearly every waking minute with our 🐶 (he’d sleep in his bed in my office even when working late, and no matter where we go in the house he follows us around) I just started traveling to a client site again this week. My wife told me she found him today sleeping in his bed in my empty office 🐶🐶😭😭😭
Looking for some support as my mother is about to start chemo next week. She relies on me for support and I am someone who has always struggled with anxiety myself (cont)
