Looking for info on your use of sign on bonuses Do you use them?
If so approximately what percentage of your hires are subject to them ?
Average amount?
What industry are you in?
Do you use a clawback or repayment agreement and terms of that agreement?

We offer sign-on bonuses and our policy is usually no more than 10% of base salary. I’d say only about 1 in every 30 eligible hires (management levels) actually receives a sign on bonus. We use a clawback agreement that commits the hire to at least two years with the company.

Yes and it’s more case by case. If a candidate is walking away from something (bonus or equity etc.) we will try to help fill the gap based on cash flow differences for the first year.

like

We don’t use them too often and when we do it’s also to fill a gap between expected compensation and what we’re willing to do. Again, not used often because we want to come to an agreement where the candidate is satisfied with the comp package upon hire. We also have a clawback of 2 years (100% payback and then 50%)

Hi all, recently a recruiter from Amazon reached out for an SDE 2(2+ years of exp. required) role and I'm a recent CS grad. I gave the OA (which was extremely difficult w/ 99% cut-off) and other tasks related to the OA. A few hours back, I got a call from the recruiter that I had cleared the assessment and tasks and said that they are looking for 2+ years of exp. I said I'm open to the SDE1 role and said she'll ask her colleagues. Idk what to expect now 😥 Amazon Amazon India

Hello everyone,

I am currently a HR Generalist for a small aerospace company, located in CA. I have been in a generalist role for a little over 4 years now and before that, I did recruiting/safety for about 3 years. I am now looking into getting my HR Certification, but am stuck in between the PHR-CA or the SHRM-CP. Does anyone have any recommendations they can give me?

Hi everyone! I’d like to create a simple graphic of our HR operational calendar for my client group. A visually appealing infographic that outlines our annual talent cycles (talent planning, performance reviews, promotion nominations, merit, etc) so leadership always knows what’s coming and can better prepare and strategize. Any ideas on how I can best visually represent this? Any tools, programs or templates you recommend? Thanks!

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

Has anyone been termed for performance?

Hello HR folks. Overheard a conversation at work and am curious what is the norm.
If an employee goes out on FMLA, obviously the benefits person sends them the STD, FMLA paperwork etc. But is it the maagers responsibility to maintain communication with the person out on leave and to get a timeline on their return or would that be the benefits team? Or maybe the HRBP?

I recently left a company because I didn’t see eye to eye with management about recruitment. The company I worked for regularly touts its commitment to D&I but in the recruitment process my candidates were routinely exited for having natural hair, being too old, too “urban”, etc. I’m not looking to bitterly blow up their spot but I feel like someone needs to be aware of this. This was done at the higher levels of local leadership and I have no connection with anyone in corporate. What to do?

I don’t love the company’s culture so I’m going to keep looking but would it be worth leveraging the offer with my current org? I’ve only been there for 7 months
