Looking for input on a career decision. Me: 9 YOE, homegrown manager who is currently doing a stop in industry. I have an offer to return to consulting (M&A). My end game is pure strategy. Do I take the offer or wait for the opportunity to interview for pure strategy? My take is it’s more difficult to lateral the more senior you are in your career.

If you want to be Partner or have the desire to grind it out, then boomerang back. If not stay in industry. I had a recent manager boomerang back, she was a M before left to be SVP in compliance at the biggest regional bank in the state, then boomerang back just to be M again. But she had no desire to be PMD so idk.

She’s making more money now than ever before. As simple as that. For most of you what you don’t understand is career is not always an upward trajectory. There’s a path for everyone and not everyone’s path is exactly the same to get to the PPMD.

Wanting advice on whether to apply or not and whether to disclose the pregnancy?
