Looking for insight on a remote position with KPMG. Are these positions a career limiting move or are they viewed the same as other in office employees? Position sounds great but worried about not being considered for promotions.

I think most of us are still remote and we've been told to really only go into the office if we have to. Whether we continue with remote work or a hybrid setup still kind of remains TBD.

This would be for Financial Services. I think most of the group would be local / hybrid where I would be in a different city.

My personal opinion is that promo to senior manager wouldn’t be impacted by wfh/remote work. Feel like as you get past senior manager that making connections (both internally and with clients) becomes much more important. Not to say that those things can’t be done remotely, but it’s more difficult to do so.

Which tax practice area is this? The firm doesn’t seem to have any clear plans going forward on remote or hybrid working, but before omicron my group was pushing pretty hard for people coming back to the office. I don’t think being remote would necessarily limit you if the rest of your group will be remote as well, but I have a hard time imagining everyone in your group being on the same page when it comes to remote versus office.

Hi Guys, One question

I have two offers and the package difference is very minor, I am having difficulty in which organisation to select, VFISLK or S&P Global and both are ready to provide wfh. I am from non-it background and this is for non-it role. Any suggestions will be helpful. I have some friends at S&P so I know about work culture and all but I don't know about VFISLK.

Looking for suggestions on how to break into this space.

I'm a RN who's worked in sales for 14 years within the industrial and energy spaces. Yea, I know, super random for a nurse, but I excelled greatly.

I still work weekends as a nurse and would love to combine my business acumen with my education by working for a pharma, biotech, or medical device company.

I've applied for these types of jobs and get nowhere. But when I apply to engineering organizations I get called immediately.

I'm thrilled that recruiters have reached out to me for a role I love at almost double comp. I can do/do/have done every responsibility for the role, but one part of the description gives me pause--it requires 10yrs experience in this space. I have 5.5 directly applicable and another 6 that's applicable but not often considered (I had a unique military job). And, this particular leadership role has not been common in corporate America before a couple years ago.

So I received a msg from a headhunter for a start up with about 300 people and just got series D for 75M. The role is to work with CEO’s and very senior level people. The two issues I am having are: when I looked at some of the VP’s over the group…they wouldn’t be very senior anywhere else. One has been working since 2010 and until 5 yrs ago was a ESOL teacher. The JD also says they are looking for people with top consulting experience. They list MBB, D and ACN as they firms they are conti:

Hi all!
Would love some insight on how you went from an HR assistant/coordinator to an HR Generalist. I’ve been in the HR world for 8 years, and only in the last 2-3 have I really done real HR work. The first company I was at didn’t have a solid HR team so I don’t really count that. I feel like I’m ready to take on more responsibility and learn more. And of course make more money.

I have looked into getting SHRM certification. But should I go back to school and get my masters in Hr?
