Start with goals. We’re not particularly creative here, so index funds, real estate, etc. tend to be the ticket.

This. Given your networth, it’s probably not at a time where you should take on second mortgage yet imo

Index Funds are better then Mutual Funds, and Index Accounts are better then all of the above for management fees, guarantees on growth(no losses ever so that $100k+ cash will never go a penny under that and take advantage on 12%+ annual growth on average), can provide pension like income for life, and often come with a 5-20% signing bonus.

Any good index accounts you recommend?

Investment property, could be a great way to diversify

If you're unsure just invest in a target date index fund. That's what I did for a while and recently switched to a 4 found portfolio spread out across my IRAs / taxable accounts though I'm seriously tempted to just go back to the target date fund plus a 10-15% allocation to small cap value.

When people talk about savings, do they mean including 401k (with it without the match) or is it only what’s additional on top of 401k which is assumed to be maxed out? I ask because I hear people saving 30-40k and im wondering if that’s ~20k in 401k and 20k otherwise.

Anyone in B4 Audit gone into any military branch as a reservist around the S2-S3 mark? Been heavily considering it as a supplemental retirement/benefit cushion and requires a minimal monthly time commitment + a few weeks in the summer when I’m usually the lightest with my public jobs. The firm HAS to allow it, but I know it could slightly delay certain promos. Any advice? Especially if I’m considering partner track…? I’d retire military at 47 and still have 10-15 yrs as a partner full time.

How much of a stigma do you think ADHD meds or other prescribed drugs have? I'm not asking about morals or ethics. I fully believe in and am supportive of mental healthcare as well as other healthcare. I'm just wondering real world practical negatives of prescribed meds. Have any of you experienced issues? Do you wish you could get off of them? Context is that I'm an adult male that has made it so far without them. But I started to realize that I may have ADHD a couple of years ago.
