Any nurses here transition completely out of healthcare and into tech and hit $150k with their first tech job? I have my associate in nursing with 10 years of hospital experience. Im trying to figure out if I should get a bachelors in computer science or just get a certificate in my preferred area of computer science. I want tech companies to take me seriously and want to crack $150k with my first job. My nursing job now pays 130k. What area of tech would even pay that much as a newbie?

I’m currently a senior in FDD and contemplating trying to move to MM IB and then eventually BB IB. My main goal is increasing my pay ceiling but not sure how long I’d last in BB IB if I get there since the hours are brutal. I guess at that point I could get a decently high paying industry job or maybe PE. Any advice? Is it worth a shot for the pay increase?

I’ve got 20+ years experience in my field, finally promoted to manager 2 years ago, and it’s been brought to my attention that I could be moved to Director. I am a work horse and have contributed so much, but the word Director scares me. Why am I like this?

A question for VCs: I’m currently a VC analyst. I want to eventually come back to the VC industry and perhaps become a partner (if possible). However, there’s an opportunity to work at an Endowment Fund (Harvard/Yale/Stanford level). Would you recommend me to spend the next 3-4 years doing something that’s not directly VC related? When is the best time to apply for jobs?

I’ve applied for jobs 3 months without any luck and thinking about taking a break to study for a certification before the headcount of 2023 comes out in Jan-Feb. I’m wondering if my application traction is low at this time because of the holidays (US based).

This individual has a doctorate in business with a focus in HR, her SPHR, Federal, and private sector experience at the singer level, and has a fabulous personality.
