Feel as if I’m constantly behind peers in terms of career progression (e.g. MBB/ FAANG) despite having a decent-ish background (tier 2 consulting and now at top tier finance company in strategy role). I find that the companies I’ve worked at have very set progression based on tenure, with no room for negotiation. I’m really ambitious/ hardworking and I am not sure where to go that would match my goals of career progression. Is it just MBB/ FAANG or is there anywhere else? Any ideas?

I’ve been seeing all of the Instagram and Linked In posts from agencies in town showing their “commitment to transparency in hiring” and to hire more minorities in light of the BLM movement. I knew the numbers were bad, but holy shit, not THAT bad.
It’s infuriating to me, as a POC how many fucking times I applied, emailed and reached out to so many of these agencies without getting even the time of day.
I’ll believe their supposed commitments, when I actually see the results.

Hi everyone, I need some advice. I work for a company with a very toxic culture(mostly the senior management is the issue). I have recently reported several incidents to my own manager(who is also our HR representative). When I spoke to her directly she was very understanding, but she has now started to freeze me out of conversations, heavily criticizing me and generally undermining my efforts at work. Any advice?

Hello, I’m currently in an HR Supervisor role. But I’m questioning if that is where I would like to stay. I’ve been looking into learning and development because I do enjoy training and creating resources. I’ve also considered an HR analyst role but the JDs for an analyst seem to ask for a lot of experience with different softwares and I don’t have that. I was a month in as Workday HCM Consultant with Accenture. They immediately throw me into the HCM courses to obtain my WD HCM certification. There are three parts HCM Essentials, HCM Applied, and HCM Practical. The passing score is 70 or above. I scored a 62 on the Essentials portion, I passed Applied, and at the end of this week Practical. During class, I received an “immediate connect” Team call and I was fired because of my low score. I'm devastated, and shocked. Yesterday was my birthday.
