Thinking about the current lead gen process and wanted to get your take on it here.

Any experience with incredibly high health insurance premiums, deductible, and family out of pocket max? I work for a small firm and am getting hosed even where firm pays for my portion of premiums. I will spend at least a third of my gross salary this year on health costs because my family will hit the family out of pocket max due to health issues this year. Because of ACA "family glitch" I don't qualify for subsidized coverage. Wife not eligible through her job. Not sure what to do. Help!

Long time fishbowl lurker, first time poster.

I work in Healthcare consulting (8 yoe). I'm incredibly passionate about Healthcare and have thought a lot about how to make meaningful changes that keep people healthy and how it can be affordable and accessible to all. I know Google has been operating in the Healthcare market. Anyone here open to connect so I can learn more about its current activities/future plans? I'd like to see if there's a role that I'd be a good fit for.

Thank you!

I just started freelancing this week, any recommendations on health insurance that isn’t insanely expensive? I’m in relatively good health but definitely want coverage for standard visits.

Anyone have ideas for jobs that are a mix between administration and clinical work? I went to school for community health and have a lot of manager/patient coordinator experience under my belt, but I'm also a volunteer EMT and would like to start using those skills in my next job that I'm searching for.

Most titles I've found interesting are along the "medical assistants" role, but don't fit the bill cause I don't have an MA license

So I didn't know until my latest doctor's visit that doctors could prescribe antidepressants. I thought I would have to jump through all these loops with my insurance, speak with a psychiatrist, take time off work, etc. But now I'm on my 5th week of fluoxetine, and I can't describe how relieved I am to feel, consistently, like a normal person for the first time in my life. It's nice not to be constantly afraid anymore.

D-folk! Is it just me or are the bi-weekly employee costs of health care pretty high? From my wife’s new and previous jobs it appear she always gets offered comparable plans for less than at D.

How should I think about this decision. I have an industry offer in my current MCOL city at a very compelling salary but would have a long (45min to 1 hour) commute at least a few days a week. I have leads in a HCOL city where commute time is TBD, as is the offer. My spouse can work remotely for for his mental health I think he should try to go into the office. We could move to the burbs so that I don’t have to commute but then he would have to look for a new job or work remotely. Cont…
