I would take a "kick the tires" approach to the interview.. Prepare for the interview itself, follows up with thank you note... After that, don't hold your breathe, and let the chips fall where they may.. I just experienced same situation.. Had round 1 and 2 in January, then didn't hear back until May ..😬..yep, May . Long story short, finished up interviewing process, and started with firm in June. Sometimes, behind the scenes processes.. Like approvals, acquisitions, mergers are involved, which really slows things down. In the meantime, follow through with the company, then keep looking, or working at your current gig.... Consider it a bonus if you hear back from above. Read over their offer(if you get one) carefully, as negotiation will take awhile , given their track record for long response.

This took another couple of weeks. A couple of days after the last interview, I sent the recruiter a thank you email and let her know I was looking forward to hearing from her. This was a week ago and no response. I’m not desperate, but I’m kind of annoyed that the communication is so bad. Should I follow up with the recruiter and ask for a status? Email the original hiring manager? I don’t understand why they wouldn’t keep me updated after so many interviews…

Some firms do have a very slow process. Hiring is not their main agenda and weeks pass by before anyone realizes that they haven’t reached out. I would start by following up with recruiter first. Send an email asking if they could advise on the outcome as you need to know before moving forward with other opportunities that you have. Give them 3 business days and if they don’t respond.. reach out to the potential supervisor saying you’re really interested but are not hearing back from hr and are running into other competing deadlines. If they respond that’s great.. if they don’t there really nothing much you can do!

Read the rest of your post, after my king response above . Take two .. Follow up with recruiter,.. Give it 2 .3 days, then , if no communication, then HM.

Thank you! I may wait until next week, just getting anxious because I want to know either way :)

Has anyone successfully made the career move from an HR specialization to an HRBP role? If so, how? I have been working for 7 years in a very niche HR specialization and while I wear many hats on the HR team, I feel like this is hard to express to recruiters or even get an interview for an HRBP role. My niche area has really burnt me out, as it’s very political and I want to expand my horizons. I am already working on completing my GPHR certification. Any other tips?

Should I be concerned for my career with lack of billable projects? Background: Analyst hired out of undergrad in July 2020. I have worked on 3 proposals in the last 2 weeks, and 5 in the last 2 months. In the past year since I was hired, I have 8 months of billable work which is actually slightly higher than the other Analysts I joined with. Should I keep collecting paychecks and hoping for projects, or is this a serious issue that should prompt an exit strategy?
