Looking for recommendations for a personal stylist that offers in-person closet edits and shopping. I started a new job recently and need help putting together an office-friendly spring/summer wardrobe.

Nordstrom offers that.

I’ve done a session at Nordstrom and it was ok, but I’d prefer a stylist who focuses on the gaps in my current wardrobe and isn’t paid on commission

I think Armoire fits this bill

I liked Armoire, but felt that my 22 year old stylist didn't really understand what was appropriate in a professional (albeit trendy professional) environment. She also pushed me to dress more scantily than I'd like to at 38 and a size 8/10!

What have you found the costs to be for this type of service? I guess what’s your biggest constraint? :)

Something I would love to consider one day maybe alongside corporate.

Generally $1-2k for closet review + shopping + coordinating outfits afterwards (4-6 hours altogether), but I’ve seen up to $10k. My biggest constraints are finding a good fit and time. The first stylist I talked to just wasn’t a good fit, the second wanted me to take pictures of all my clothes and upload them to her outfit platform. I don’t have time for that.

I honestly cannot believe these well produced videos of summer parties sponsored by various companies that have not one person of color. Not even the still photos. My boss assigns projects with unclear expectations and provides no guidance on how to achieve them.

I've asked for help, and, to avoid a long post, she expects me to figure it out. Perhaps you go through this too, but when I don't have a clear guide on completing big projects, it paralyzes me because I don't know where to start. On top of that, I have anxiety, so "it has to be perfect".

How do you approach projects when your boss plays the "guess what's in my head" game?
