Looking for recommendations for gels for long distance running. There’s so many options out there and would love to hear any favorites and why, TIA!

I can’t stand the gel texture and use either Jelly Belly sport beans or Clif Shot Bloks

I’ve found the best way to learn is trial and error. Personally I’ve stuck mostly to Gu, because I like the roctane ones (higher sodium) & the fact that gu has so many flavors. The downside of them is they can sometimes upset the stomach, moreso after a long run than during the run.

A lot of people love maurten. I don’t have enough experience trying them to know where I stand on them.

Huma and honey stinger are also popular. I’ve used in the past and they’re good/preferred by people with sensitive stomachs.

I’d pop into a running store and buy 2-3 different brands and test them over a few weeks. This way you can learn what works for you and not end up with a surplus from a bulk Amazon order

Gels bother my stomach so I've used Honey Stinger gummies for several years and those work great. Definitely recommend! Almost dangerously delicious hehe

I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who shares in this group. It truly helps me stay sober. I am approaching 12 months sober but have been struggling lately. While I have not relapsed, I’ve been close. Normally, before I get out of bed, I write down my reason to stat sober for the day, but lately the reasons have been lousy at best. But reading about everyone’s struggles and successes has helped get me through this past month. So thank you all for the inspiration to keep going strong!

The person I’m seeing has been responding to my texts days later (only a recent development) and it’s making me anxious. They have been busy the past two weeks with PhD exams and their last message was them planning when they could see me again (in a really flirty way too), so logically I know the delay is not a sign of disinterest. But I have an anxious attachment style (if that’s not obvious) and my therapist is on leave right now, so I’m struggling. Do any of you have any advice?

My girlfriend has a peloton fitness membership. I’m thinking about getting a bike. Do I need a subscription or can I use hers for the bike?

Kind of a new distance runner here (completed my first half mara last month) and am usually run on treadmill for workouts during the week. I also wear an Apple Watch. Have noticed that my Apple Watch tends to say I’ve run a longer distance, at a faster speed, than treadmill. (It’s usually up to 0.5 miles off and 0.5mph off in speed). Anyone experience this? Not sure what to trust but assuming Apple Watch. Thoughts?

EY MD 🐠 , I’m a newly promoted MD and have a few questions on comp timelines I’m hoping you can help answer since there have been 0 comms to MDs on this 😔:
1. I’ve heard we don’t find out new salaries until mid-Aug with others below PP. Given others new comp doesn’t start until Oct, do you know if that’s when our new comp starts too even though our new titles are already effective?

Achilles question. I developed Achilles tendinitis last fall and it’s taking forever to fully heal. It’s definitely better but it’s been 10 months. The dr just said to be patient and don’t do anything that aggravates it. I rotate between peloton biking, weights, and yoga and it doesn’t get as stiff as it used to but I feel it start to strain if I do more than a mile of running. Does Achilles tendinitis ever fully recover or am I stuck with this?
