Husband and I are moving to Denver area next year, we’re in our late 30s, one kid, no family/friends in town to give us the scoop.

We are looking for either a suburb in the Denver area or neighborhood in Denver with public schools rated high. It seems majority of schools in the area are not great (looking at Redfin ratings, they’re all below 6).
Don’t want a boogie neighborhood with stuck up people either (we currently live in one).

Anyone ever been offered the “mommy track” without warning and without being pregnant? I am a Product Owner with 6 yoe and a mother of newly born. My current package is 12lpa and average 11-12 hrs working with work from office for 7-8 hrs, remaining calls/work from home. In such scenario taking care of the baby has become very challenging.
I have been considering job switch for a while but have lots of doubt in my mind. Will a new mother be hired? Working 12 hrs will only ensure good package? If i insist on work life balance, will it affect the package? Thoughts plz

Are there women here that have a significantly larger income than their male partner/ spouse? My husband used to make a little more money 10 years ago when we first met (when we were both making under 60k). Naive question: How many yearly billable hours are reasonable for a good balance of work and home. I have a young child and don't want to miss out on important moments. I had one firm state that their yearly quota is 1900 hours and I don't have a frame of reference as to whether this is reasonable or if it means 12 hour days. I tell my husband every day “IDK how anyone is pregnant and practicing law at the same time.” After a morning in court last month I was totally out of commission for the day.
