I wouldnt travel. Just had a client cancel all face to face interaction incl locally based resources. I think you have valid concerns for not going.

Thanks ladies! I’m going to cancel. It’s been keeping me up the last couple of nights and I was looking for some reassurance that I’m not overreacting.

A conference in Disney next week and I’m not wanting to go to risk quarantine. I could care less if I get sick but I’m afraid of the measures in which governments are reacting aka shutting people in hotels for 14+ days.

Do I travel? Do I travel with supplies to pump for 2 weeks?

My colleague is facing the same decision.

My husbands company just suspended all business travel until further notice. I think it’s perfectly reasonable for you to not travel, especially if you were to be separated from your child who is very dependent on you.

I don’t even like traveling with a newborn without the coronavirus scare. Definitely wouldn’t risk it. Most companies are pretty understanding and some of my clients have outright banned travel.

I would go.with your gut. Assuming there would be supplies brought in for you to pump. My concern would be getting milk back to the baby and if that would be allowed.

Hmm maybe I haven’t been paying enough attention.... unless you are going to Asia is this really that big a risk?? Also kids apparently have very mild symptoms if they do get it. You should be more worried about the flu

I’m less worried about contracting it and as mentioned, more worried about being quarantined somewhere where I can’t get breastmilk back home/leaving my husband on baby duty for 2+ weeks with no help around

Recently received an offer from a mid-size public firm and unsure if I should consider the opportunity. I’m currently in S1 SALT in NJ. The details are below:
- Pay: $80k (12% upward bump than what I’m getting right now)
- Title: Semi senior, but up for promotion in July if all goes well
- Role: General tax, but mainly federal tax. One of the main reasons I’m considering
-Location: Technically NYC, but assuming I do well while we are still remote I can work out of NJ 3 days after covid ends

A father showed up to drop off kid while the mom was busy elsewhere, instead of going about his plans he stayed with us. I felt so much sexual tension with him there its so weird. I was attracted to something about him and i know i had his attention. I could barely look him in the eyes when he would make conversation. I wanted to… you know what. SO WEIRD. Hes not even a 10! Im so confused.

Best everyday bank account and credit card in Australia for an expat couple?

I‘m moving to Australia with my partner and we don’t have a bank account and credit cards yet. We basically need the bank account only for everyday finance stuff (local payments, debit card, etc) and we‘re looking for some credit cards with good international fees and ideally a reward program to collect some points for traveling.

Boundaries question: do any of you allow in-laws/family members to take kids out of school for an activity aka going to the zoo? Note our families live within 15 mins of us and we see them often..but I just don't feel comfy having my in-laws take my kids (4 and 2) out of daycare for a day trip..they ask almost twice a month and I've usually said no. Q for moms mixed feeding bubs: how do you ensure you keep up your milk supply?

My LO is 10mo and still pretty much exclusively breast fed, but will take a bottle. I would like husband to do some occasional formula feeds to give me more freedom, but I don’t want to have to pump to replace those feeds. Will this create a problem? How frequently can I “skip” feeds without issues?

For those with a nanny, is it reasonable to ask her to use the same sleep methods and schedule you try? We’re trying to get our 5-month old to nap in the crib and try each time he goes down for a nap. If we try for 20 minutes and it doesn’t work, we hold him. She says if he won’t nap in there for us, he won’t for her. She said it’s easier to take him for a walk or hold him. I realize she also has our toddler, but I’m wondering if this is going to mess up our efforts to sleep train later on.

Tell me whether you would be annoyed by this. Husband found an extra vaccine dose at a grocery store 30 min away by calling around while I was telling our 3 yo a story before bed, then barged in and announced that he was going to go get the vaccine and dashed off! Without asking me if I wanted it? Granted the pharmacist told him he had to hustle and he knows I can’t drive on the highway solo. But still! I feel like a 1 min discussion about who gets it was warranted! Thoughts?? Lol
