Looking for some advice. Currently contributing 10% to 401k and maxing out Roth IRA, and remainder of savings (usually $800-$1200 per month) putting in a HYSA for a down payment on a house. Hoping to buy in 2-3 years once we (partner & I) have a sizable down payment. Should I continue to put all my non-retirement savings in an HYSA for a downpayment or should I also contribute to my brokerage and invest to grow wealth? (24yo, $85k)

Do you have enough for the down payment? If so if you have that and enough for an emergency fund and other near term expenses, I don’t think you need to keep more in HYSA.

Alright -EY2 I’ve changed my opinion haha am now considering lowered my 401k contributions from 10% to the employer match (6% at Deloitte) and investing that money through a brokerage account instead, while still adding the same account into a HYSA as I have been for a downpayment and keeping that money safe, while hopefully taking advantage of stock market gains I could also use for down payment

Hi all, I have a question regarding retirement accounts. I am not sure if I should choose a Roth or 401k (company has 4+2% match). Currently 23, base salary is ~100k and investments have brought 45k this year which has me teetering between a 22-24% tax bracket. Wondering what the usual tax bracket is of people retired (around 65yo) as I’m not sure anything would bring in significant income with the exception of investments. In my case would a Roth make sense? Appreciate any answers!!

I get tax brackets but in the UK making 30K you pay ~£6K tax and when you make around 5x more at £150k you pay 10x more tax ~£60k. What things can you do to lower your tax in consulting? (I’m not at 150 yet but most of us will get there hopefully if we stay in this role)

Few friends referred some (3-4) lenders who provided similar rates to me. I’m now confused if I need to keep shopping with a hope for better rates or to stop and lock with better one among these lenders. TIA

1) Put 10k into iBonds and $90k as downpyament and closing costs for a property (I’ll need to put in 20%, already talked to several mortgage agents)
2) Put $0 in ibonds and put all the $100k in the home investing (given it’s a little more of an expensive property, given some other factors - location, size, etc)
