It seems that a significant majority of MBA applicants coming from consulting are coming from well-known firms (ex. MBB, Big4, Accenture, Kearney, OW, etc.). I have a little over 1 YOE and plan on applying to M7 schools in 2-3 years, but I’m currently at a boutique firm that is not well-known. Is this disadvantageous (i.e. should I try to move to MBB - this is a goal of mine regardless but could also be post-MBA) or alternatively, how do I try to stand out when coming from a small firm?

People joining TCS at Senior Consultant designation with 12 years exp, with no MBA degree or even from with exceptional experience in niche technologies is truth these days. Existing employees with 20 years exp working on presales consulting, winning millions of dollars of projects in RFPs, delivering multi million dollar assignments are still not getting promoted and paid in peanuts Makes me wonder if companies are really enjoying so called great resignation period. As I prepared to file my notice, the partner of the firm called me and asked me to stay. They’re willing to promote me mid year in December and increase salary next year in August. The current offer I have gives 60% pay increase and Partner still can’t match that offer after promotion. Hi, I have a double digit experience in core investment banking operations. I want to add knowledge of cyber security. Which certification should i go for as I don't have IT experience but have the knack to understand.

When should I start reaching back out to recruiters for Full-time MBA recruiting? Any chance of interviewing early (like summer) if I came close and had strong connections in an office? I’ll be at a boutique this summer.

If you are already a consultant, what are your actual post-MBA goal? Upgrade to MBB? Lateral over to IB for more work and more pay? FAANG for the RSUs? Those are the three paths I’ve identified where the business case holds water. Startups seem great but where’s the payoff?

Is it difficult to land a role with Capital One? I have years of experience as a data scientist plus an MBA, but I can’t get an interview. Any advice?
