Before Covid they were much more of a red flag for me. Since then, I find I'm a little more flexible and willing to give people the opportunity to explain their situation, assuming their resume is stellar. That said, you'd better be able to articulate your reasoning well, otherwise it's back to red-flagsville for me.

With a caveat that overall you hit the mark on your resume, I always give people the benefit of the doubt and hear them out. People have different circumstances in life and more often than not there is a good reason for it.

We are very lenient when it comes to career breaks. Especially when applicants can justify them.

Is it possible that companies are overvalued because of how easy it is for a regular joe to throw money into an ETF? Like if a ton of unsophisticated investors just throw their savings at the market. It does seem like everyone and their dog has access to brokerages now.

About to start a new job..former company asked me to stay on longer than anticipated and I already have a start date with the new company. Company one (my current) has a policy in place that I must dedicate all of my time to them on business hours. Should I just leave earlier than anticipated..can i negotiate a contract role? Note each position is on a different time zone. Don’t really care to stay at my current company any longer…but some things I should follow through on before leaving.

SPHR exam- has anyone ever been “randomly selected” for an application audit? This just happened to me and the sheer amount of effort that is going to go into collecting all the documents almost makes me not want to follow through. Since I didn’t finish undergrad, they’re asking for a copy of my high school diploma or transcript and that itself is going to be an absolute nightmare to get hold of. Guess I’m not really looking for a solution here, just venting.

I need a bit of advice here, what are the recommendations for finding a job in HR at United States.
I worked as an HRBP in Latin America companies for more than 9 years, I currently have L2S visa, and I live in Seattle, but it seems that whenever I mention my migrations status recruiters gets “scared” and typicall they asks why I moved here.

So far I got 30 interviews from December 2021 and all of them rejected me, it’s any recommendation that you can suggest me to get a job successfully?
