Has anyone considered joining a private social club (e.g., Union Club, City Club)? If so why are the pros you’ve found and if you considered and decided against, why?

Should we create a union? Honestly we need one! No more third parties handling our contracts!

Why have unions become so powerless in recent years? A decade ago, the collective bargaining units would get wage increases that matched or exceeded inflationary growth. Now we are lucky to see any positive integer offered.

Realistically, if they are merely securing my job for $100/month they are not providing value! I can protect my own job, AND pay for a decent retirement with that money saved.

So as much as I embrace the tenets of socialism, I have to admit: I'm not a part of a union. I don't know of any programmer's union and I don't know where to start if I want to organize in my own company.

If anyone has any pointers, I'd love some guidance. Also guidance in convincing my coworkers to organize, which might be a hard sell because most of us are pretty happy with our working conditions and pay as far as I can tell.

Was given a copy of my first evaluation from administration (this is my fourth year working for the school district). Admin didn't know that I went to central office the spring semester of my second year to get a copy of that eval.
When looking at both evals, I found that Admin changed some things after I got my copy which lowered my overall score. Went to my union rep about it, and now I have a conference with my principal. Did I do the right thing, or should I have just let it be?

I worked at a larger credit union. I was a regional manager overseeing 130 people and ten branches. I managed about 2 billion in assets. Sales and service had massive growth in my area. How can I leverage this into a position at a smaller credit union. (Most credit unions are the size of my region). I am running into problems getting I front of people. I’m a solar electrician at sunrun. I focus mainly on energy storage systems such as Tesla batteries. Currently making 93k a year with Lots of OT that push me into 150k a year. High stress job and high reward. At 31, I feel I could keep up with the long hours but I know eventually it will have to stop as it’s not sustainable long term. How do you confirm a company that approaches you from Europe is legitimate? I have a media company from Turkey asking me to quote some animation for them. They have a website, have given their address (which is an actual address on google maps), and have given phone numbers which I haven't tried yet. I have let them know that if we work together, I'd require 50% up front, 35% midway and 15% before delivery of final elements and they say they're fine with that. Anything else?
