Op- ups and downs happens in life. And I believe it’s the downs that help you shape your character. Add discipline/routine to your life - timebox everything. Exercise and eat healthy, do yoga/meditation. All of this will help you how you feel. And hopefully, help your relationship.

Much appreciated, thanks and you’re right - it’s times like these that make us grow 💪🏼

I try to make time to treat/check in with myself. That could be by having a spa day, journaling, or just taking a much needed break. I also try to talk to friends and family that can always put a smile on my face and help me see things positively :)

A new career opportunity popped into my lap recently and I am planning to take it. I would be leaving public accounting for industry and part of me is thrilled and part of me is so sad. I will be getting a $15k salary increase, which is a huge motivator in me taking the position. I am also in tax currently and I just don’t know if I can do this forever. I’m a mom of young kids and tax season is incredibly hard. How do I not feel so guilty for leaving or if I’m making a bad decision?

Anyone familiar with the Process Owner role at Google? The recruiter is selling it like an enterprise effectiveness, operations excellence and business operations management role, but reading between the lines it smells like a heavily administrative, internal controls focused, and process input/output gate keeper role. Any insights? TIA!!

Just started an in-house role and trying to gauge a good time to leave work. I’ve been leaving around 6:15-6:30pm every night because nobody else seems to leave before 5:45pm. I feel like everyone in the office is playing chicken to see who the first to leave will be. Anyways, what time do you all leave, and any advice with my situation. Side note: I don’t want to be the first to leave, nor should I be as the legal counsel. LMK your thoughts!

Serious question….with all of the pressure on the tech sector, companies freezing hiring, stocks down, companies cutting costs, how are things over in salesforce services? There is a lot of momentum overall for the services side of here economy (relative basis) in the US but a services division of a tech product company may be another matter. I hear salesforce is already slashing spending, cutting travel, etc. would value any views especially from the inside.

I heard that newly promoted senior managers are forced to sign a contract to give 60 days notice before leaving. Assuming I refuse to sign that contract because my intent is to leave within the next 60 days, what is the worst they would do to me if I delayed signing it for 2 months? Should I stay silent about it and ignore emails when they reach out to me? Or be upfront that I am looking for a new job? @Big4 with staffing shortages and I have a very solid reputation and no compliance issues.

How hard is it to get a tech cofounder? I want to change the way the world lends when crypto is used as collateral. MVP involves building out api end points, building a portal and decision engine. No front end apps or web portals. I have a deck and have had meaningful conversations with money but it’s too expensive to buy everything from scratch to get started. Perhaps an outside team commercializing and scaling a prototype will be much more economical. Feedback?
