Looking for suggestions and any advice you can offer!

I have been in HR for 3 years, doing full cycle with a focus on sourcing and branding. My background is in marketing and I’m struggling with how to further develop in HR. I loved all my classes pertaining to HR in college but never saw myself going this route back then.

What trainings have you done and do you think it was beneficial in growing your career AND skills?

P.S. I know SHRM is somewhat industry standard but I’m open to all!

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

Curious what comp range you would expect for someone with 6 YOE in HR. Current title of Director with growth potential to exec team as first CHRO. About 150 employees at multiple locations. manages 2 employees right now, looking to add a third. At Director level 2.5 years before that was generalist. Hi all! For an experienced hire as a Human Capital Consultant at Deloitte, what should I expect the salary/sign-on bonus to be at a MCOL city? I have approx. 3.5 YOE (non-consulting), MBA and MS degree (non target school) and also SHRM certified (which is probably irrelevant for the role but thought I’d share anyways). Already did my research but the range is kind of all over the place for experienced hires so just want to have a ballpark. Thanks!

Any tips on overcoming hiring manager objections?

Resumes are being rejected because candidates "seem overqualified"

We're talking a role that requires 3-5 yrs and the applicants are around 6-8 years.

I think over qualified is a cop out for really saying "I'm not sure what I'm going to expect out of this person yet"

Any recommendations here?
