I want to create a data visualization portfolio, but I’m not sure where to begin. I work in urban planning and wanna do more urban analytics kind of stuff. I left the company after 6 months as I was in support project. Being a Developer, I was not interested. I have been hired for development in new company but here also they put me in support and promised me the development project... If they don't provide development project, what are the options I have? If want to leave, how much duration I need to work here? Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. Im a contractor. Another firm has reached out for 100% remote work for basically a lateral move. I really like where I’m at right now. I’m remote but if I turn to FTE which is very possible later this year I would probably end up having to go in 1 or 2 days a week to NYC. My manager knows this is basically a dealbreaker for me. Should I let my manager know I have another firm reaching out but I really want to stay but I’d need to be a remote FTE? They mentioned several times I’m an asset.

So I just started at a new company about 5 months ago. I’m already looking to leave. My boss should not be in the director of HR role she in, she does not have the experience for it. She was put into that role because the prior director left and she was the senior most person on the team. I’m also not connecting with anyone on my team. I don’t feel fulfilled or happy here. So someone I know asked HR about a boot policy. When he found out that there wasn’t one, but his boss said there was (who gave the guys $ for boots and the claimed it on his expense reimbursements as something else) the boss got mad at him for askingHR (and in trouble for the expense reimbursements) and then 2 days later laid off my friend. There appears to be no notice of bad performance and this person always was the first person on the job site ready to work. Thoughts?

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology.
