Well the state of this thread is rather sobering isn’t it.

Hi EY and Fishes everywhere! I might be getting an offer to join tax as an S1 (or exp. assoc), probably not being able to start until mid August based off how the process has been. However, I currently work at a mid size firm and we’re already getting into busy season. How would it look if I asked EY to postpone my start date till after 10/15 and say that I’m not ready to be thrown into a Big 4 busy season and that I don’t want to leave my current firm out to dry. Thank you all so much! @EY

Is it worth going to a smaller firm like Crowe, Baker Tilly, etc in order to break into FDD? Or should I keep looking at Big 4? I'm coming from risk advisory (current S1 CPA), so the switch seems very difficult.

My rotation opportunity here is on hold indefinitely due to covid, and from the firm's side, they prefer external hires from audit (good experience, steal them from other B4, no transfer politics).

Has your firm gone woke? My leadership is consumed by virtue signaling and social justice to the point where nothing else (even our business) seems to matter. More importantly, they seem oblivious to the fact that not everyone shares their woke sensibilities and they’ve said some highly divisive and offensive things. There is no vehicle for dissent. Thinking of leaving a firm I’ve dedicated my life to as a result. It’s a sad realization.

Considering an MD position at Accenture and need to give comp expectation, its on Strategy side. Of course its based on my own need and desire, but like to hear from (ex)MDs at Accenture if 400k sounds like a reasonable ask for base. And can anyone help me understand the difference between L4 and L3? For reference, I am a Senior Principal with almost 2 years executive industry experience post consulting. Thanks for any insights!
