Speakeasy helps with body language and presentation skills. Check with PWC crew to make sure they don’t have agreement first and if you can get the firm to get it.
PWC, try to call them and negotiate a discount. I have no idea if they would do it, but it’s worth asking. Maybe they have classes that are not full or something.
If it is still out if your price range, here are two things I would recommend doing - simple exercises. Also do a search on YouTube. There are bound to be free things out there.
- print out a short 3-5 min speech by somebody. Have someone or do it yourself video tape you as you deliver it. Pretend there’s no podium and you’re on stage. It helps with body language and also with catching little quirks we do when we talk - filling pauses with umms, etc
- pretend you’re trying to convince an audience about something you’re passionate about but you cannot use any words. All you have is your body and your voice. Baba baba ba ba....2 mins. Videotape yourself. Helps with getting the point across.
Take an improve class. Volunteer to speak on panels. Its the quickest way to learn how to think on your feet and articulate clearly.
Thanks! Looking outside the firm specifically because I’m no longer there. Speakeasy looks like what I would like to do but that price is not feasible. Toastmasters May be a good option
Firm has core consulting skills trainings, including “Presenting with Impact”, “Managing Self” (cannot recall what it is about, but you can check it out), and a few around conversations. Toastmasters in many offices.
Thanks P1
Not sure about this, but maybe try to search on Coursera
