Pre-tax 401k or post-tax 401k contributions? On the one hand Pre allows you to have a bigger base and pay fewer taxes, but Post seems to make more sense with higher tax brackets looming. Thoughts?

It really bothers me that people in our industry refuse to seriously consider the upsides of joining a union. The arguments against unionization tend to be reductive, thinking it will lead to lower compensation or the undeserving getting ahead, which is just a bunch of propeganda. mindset really needs to change.

Just got offered a job that’s a level up (currently jr.),way more pay, and even allows my dog to work, but the work doesn’t seem portfolio worthy. Do I look elsewhere or take it for a year and peace?

Pre-pandemic we were headed for a burnout. Dual career household and always over-committed! With things opening back up, I don’t want return to that frantic pace or stress from being late for morning meetings or pick up from daycare, behind on work/working late to catch-up, chores, etc. I have loved this extra time with my family. Are you making lifestyle changes post-COVID? If so, how?

Anyone take time off from work to stay home until the littles were in school? Would you do it again?
