Looking to apply to an MBA next year. Wanted to know what schools will look at me with my profile: 750 GMAT, 3.3 Undergrad GPA (Top engineering college), small consulting firm. Any tips?

There is much more to a MBA app than your academics. Depending on the rest of your application, you could manage M7

GPA is low but depends if you went to a MIT/Stanford then that might help. And what's your ethnic background?

I believe you have the qualifications to target any school. Decisions would ultimately be based on quality of your essays, LOR and interview skills. You would need to craft a story to differentiate yourself from the over represented pool of consulting applicants.

@ATK yea I've been getting involved in ECs for about 3 years now, teaching financial literacy to underrepresented etc.

@P1 yea I'm Asian (Hong Kong). Don't know if that's in the Chinese pool.

@E1 thanks EY, yep trying to get the applications started before time to craft them perfectly. Hopefully it comes together!

Duh HK counts in Chinese(Asian) pool. Where else would it count?

Agree with D1. I support you guys in your quest for independence but HK means chinese for now which means you have a bigger hurdle to cross

Yea I guess in terms of immigration, HK is different to Chinese so that's where I was coming from.

Sigh, honest question @D1 for international students from HK or Taiwan, no need to be snappy. OP, would be good to highlight unique experiences / larger responsibilities you got from your company that maybe wouldn't be afforded to consultants from larger firms. Yes gmat score looks great, and engineering degree already proves you've got a quant mind. Don't see why you can't shoot for M7!

Hello! I have a two part question: 1) is it worth it to obtain an SHRM specialty credential if I don’t have the broader SHRM certification? 2) has anyone gotten the People Analytics or Talent Acquistion credential? If so, how valuable was it from a learning perspective? Do you feel it significantly contributed to your knowledge in either area? Thank you!

Post-MBA, 5 weeks into consulting and I hate the weekends. It means I’m one week deeper in the job, and therefore performing another week lower than the level I’m expected to perform at. I have fucked up so much (led a disastrous client meeting, mistakes, slow to answer Qs, etc). My boss is picking up that this isn’t a “new” issue, its a me issue. I try my best to improve but I still feel so anxious, to the point that I started crying at my desk. What do I do? Anyone here quit within a month?

I graduated with my MBA in finance in 2020 and began working at a bank as a Management Trainee. 2 years later, I am an assistant to a financial advisor studying to become a financial advisor. However, I have to do this on MY time and not the bank's.
I am not in a Management position, I make as much as a teacher in a good district and I just don't feel my overall self worth at this job. Does anyone have any advice that can help this situation?

I’m new to bonds so apologies if the question seems basic.
I’d like to buy a bond etf through a brokerage account and would like to know how does the dividend and dividend yield work exactly.
For BND, the dividend is 0.15 and the yield is 2.2%. Does it mean that for every BND I purchase I will receive 0.15 USD on a yearly basis?
And are these dividends distributed yearly from the date the bond etf is purchased? Or are they pro-rated somehow? Also do the dividends fluctuate with bons etf price?

I have been looking at the curriculums for Harvard Business School's Master of Business Administration and Harvard Extension School's ALM in Management. If I am not able to gain admission to Harvard Business School, but wanted a similar educational experience to become a consultant, should I attend Harvard Extension?
