Looking to build an excel based tool using macros that will pull tabs & then reformat them from a separate workbook in order to create summaries.

Any good training resources/ videos on how to go about this? Have very limited macro experience.

Probably try a course on Udemy? I’ve taken 2-3 courses on there and they’ve helped me get a good understanding of the environment to know where to go next.
There’s a lot of excel functionality in VBA (I am NOT an expert in any means) which you can take advantage of. The most intense macro I made was able to do order entry in SAP from an Excel form.

Alteryx is generally going to be your best option for excel formatting a batch of tabs/files provided all of the tabs are in the same format

Don't get me wrong, I love Excel because of it's familiarity - but isn't that more along the lines of what the Alteryx is for? I haven't yet used/experienced Alteryx but I that's what I ascertained from it's "hype" & "presentation"

So you don’t need to use a macro to pull in the data. You can utilize the query editor and power query to do aggregate the data from other sources and translate if necessary. It’s very easy to do and you can connect both to excel data files as well as other sources - SAP SQL server, Azure Synapse, SAP, SFDC.

As for alteryx, I have used it and yes you can achieve the same result. In terms or aggregating and summarizing. It very powerful. We have been testing it out at work the last few months

Hello Fishses,
I joined a new company a couple of months ago; but recently I got another offer from another company and it is giving a little better package and a good profile. While I have made up my mind that I'll join the new company, I was wanting to know if anyone from here can I advise me on how do I convey this to my current organization? I'm being trained by the team and being aligned and I feel terribly about it.
Any word of advise will be highly appreciated.

My firm is really great. Mid sized regional firm. People are great, work is great. But I’m a junior and there are zero mid levels in my specific office. I’m questioning if I am getting the proper training as other juniors at other firms. The pay is good for a firm of this size with its presence, but feel like someone with my level of experience should be trying to get the proper training in order to succeed as I progress. Thoughts on what to do? I’m comfortable, but thinking about of the future

Hey guys, did you ever encounter the following problem & know a solution:
Whenever I reference another tab in any given formula in my model, XLS first calculates everything as it should be. However directly afterwards (or sometimes only after saving) the formula vanishes and only the resulting value is left. Hence, all automation etc in the xls does not work.

Any ideas what's happening and how I can solve it without rebuilding the whole model?
